  • Develop technology strategy and roadmap for Financial Markets business by providing robust technology solutions that will efficiently drive higher productivity, maximize efficiency, and reduce costs
  • Lead and implement the vision and strategy by adopting new technology and delivery model with Agile, and Dev Ops to identify working opportunities on innovation

  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates.
  • Contribute to the strategic goals of the organisation through the application of standard and latest technology (standardised enterprise grade tools, software, and frameworks).
  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the group operates.

  • Mentor and coach individuals and develop the community of technical talent.
  • Drive creation and provide ongoing input and support for the delivery of technology talent programmes.
  • Create a positive impact in the organisation and across the industry by sharing knowledge and expertise with others.
  • Source knowledge and expertise for own initiatives and in supporting others to achieve their initiatives.
Risk Management
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks for investment projects as well for new application build-out.
  • Identify / address key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the Group Technology Policy, Standards and Enterprise Risk management framework
  • Responsible for delivering effective governance ; capability to challenge peers effectively; and Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
  • Work with program management office and 2 nd line of defence teams to ensure portfolio governance are well managed.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Responsible for business solution, technical architecture and design
  • Own applications (in-house & vendor) within FM Post Trade technology space
  • Oversee development and testing efforts
  • Follow agile process on all development and delivery
Project Planning & Delivery Management
  • Responsible for developing and coordinating with implementation teams, complex integration activities
  • Coordinate and manage across all technology teams involved in the project ensuring teams are engaged with a clear remit
  • Demonstrate exceptional project governance ensuring project controls are clearly understood and complied with and look for opportunities for control improvements, or simplification where appropriate manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning
  • Follow SCB processes to onboard third party products and work with Risk owners , Manage technology engagement with vendors and external entities as part of the project
  • Use JIRA /Confluence as collaboration tool
Team Management
  • Assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments
  • Removing roadblocks to engineering team s work which includes liaising with dependant parties like interface teams;
  • Helping the development team avoid or remove impediments to progress / Mitigating and resolving risks and issues which may impair delivery.
  • Build relationships and partner with teams internal and external
Team Building
  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
Stakeholders management-
  • Work closely with Product Owners and Process Owners and relevant stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet the project objectives
Our Ideal CandidateRequired Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical discipline
  • 15+ years of experience as a software engineer with at least 5+ years of experience as technical delivery lead
  • 5+ years of experience in Banking/Financial Services Industry
  • Must have functional/domain knowledge (3+ years) in Trade and Settlement Processing for asset classes like FX,MM, Equity or Bonds
  • Proficient in solution design, design patterns, code quality and usage of latest software tools and techniques
  • Experience in working with integration technologies concepts like SFTP, Webservices, REST API
  • Strong OO concepts, including good knowledge of design patterns, refactoring, and software testing
  • Familiar with DevOps tools like (Maven, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Rundeck etc.)
  • Understanding & experience in project management budgeting, resource planning and governance.
  • Good written and oral communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Possess a can-do attitude and proactively seeking to overcome obstacles to deliver.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in managing 15 to 20 member team size using agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
