Job Description

Designation:Manager PricingRoles & Responsibilities:Primary:

  • Researches and analyzes competitors rates.
  • Updates the tariff system if required with the research results.
  • Procurement of tariffs from shipping lines and agents worldwide
  • To ensure tariff insight for both Import & Export businesses
  • Draft service contracts for customers who will receive preferred rates.
  • Exercises knowledge of the companys services and aspects of the department.
  • Quotes various types of rates (port-to-port, intermodal, over the road, railroad, and transshipment) and effectively work with the intermodal department in developing rates as per customers needs.
  • Keeps abreast of tariff changes, including any new regulations and changes in rate applicability.
Secondary:
  • Assists Sales Teams with quotes for customers.
  • Provides support to Customer Service Representatives, Rate Clerks and Traffic Coordinators in the interpretations of the tariff rules and/or rates.
  • Profiles and identifies accounts in order to ensure the most profitable rate for each shipment/customer.
  • Keep abreast of M/V changes or related issues as they pertain to areas of responsibility (countries in charge of).
  • Handles heavy contract rate negotiations.
  • Participates in bids performed in Conference Agreements or for specific customers in order to secure cargo.
