Job Description

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: Pre- sales, post- sales and post hand- over activities for projects resulting from sales of company s process technologies and modular systems. These include market intelligence, business development, Sales, proposal engineering, cost estimation, transfer budgeting and customer service. This position requires close interaction with Head of Cluster Process Intensification (Research & Development) regarding market intelligence, business and product development. This position requires co- ordination with project dept., engineering dept., technology marketing, process design and licensing and applications laboratory. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Increasing client footprint through enhancing the awareness of Company s technologies and products organize workshops/ symposia Inquiry generation and inquiry handling including inquiry qualification, bid- won and bid- lost analysis Identify and track market trends and risks to business Proposal engineering and proposal making including costing, handling commercial tax matters and required co- ordination with all stakeholders Arrange technology demo as required Manage client interface in pre- and post proposal stages Prepare transfer budget for projects post- sales Assist Project Manager and other departments in post- sales activities during execution phase for customer related escalations. Co- ordinate post- handover customer service activities Conduct customer satisfaction surveys Development of brochures, presentations and other marketing materials Identifying pre- engineered system and system leasing opportunities Identify effective methodologies for sales and identify sales reps, OEMs and value- added resellers Identifying and implementing solutions, tools for improving the department productivity quick costing, templatized proposals and contracts etc. Participation in process scale- up, technology commercialization, process licensing efforts and key corporate strategic decisions Participation in formulation of Company s IP strategy Assistance in performing techno- economic analysis to establish merits of Company s process technology over existing/ conventional approaches ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning and tracking of department budget including in- house and outsourced manpower, CAPEX, OPEX and CSR Coordination with HR for resource acquisition and assistance in resource selection and handling department personnel issues Identify and track issues and risks for smooth (productive, safe and information security incident free) functioning of department and related functions. Preparing and updating department processes and SOPs Capturing & Management of Department Knowledge lessons learnt, best practices etc. Assistance in Cost Accounting for costing of all department activities Keeping department databases updated and generate MIS reports as required Support Department Compliance & Audits ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION: M.Tech/ M.S. or B.Tech/ B.S. in Chemical Engineering MBA degree in Sales & Marketing preferred WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years in Specialty & Fine Chemical, Pharma, Biofuels (Distillery, Bio- diesel), Refining, Petrochemical Industry A minimum of 8 years in sales of process technology. Distillation, membrane separations (especially pervaporation) and adsorption related work experience preferred. Sales of proprietary materials and technologies Leasing equipment Handling of intellectual property and trade secrets Costing experience & handling of commercial tax matters in India CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSES/ TRAININGS: Relevant sales training for process technology / equipment preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Excellent Networking, Communication and Co- ordination Skills Proficiency in Advanced MS Office (Word, PPT, Excel & Visio) Exposure to Steady State Process Simulator ChemCAD, Aspen, UNISIM Knowledge of project management software such as MS Project preferred Ability to perform under pressure,
