Position Title: Sr. Project Lead - Mechanical Design Reports To : Program Manager Location : Noida Position Summary: Pentair is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the NPD Engineering team responsible for the design and development of our water softener and filtration products. In this role, the Mechanical Engineer will work on projects to meet customer needs and uphold Pentairs standards for quality and innovation. Duties and Responsibilities: - Leads activities in new product design for water softener and filtration products.- Execute on projects, while working with a cross functional team, as part of a stage-gate new product development process.- Translate customer needs into the functionality of our product offering.- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.- Responsible to lead Engineering projects from concept through production.- Responsible for creating new designs and ensuring the manufacturability of said designs.- Contributes to the development of project budget, schedule, and scope.- Creates solid component models, assemblies, drawings, bill of materials, and part number set up.- Checks tolerance stack of complex assemblies and drawings prior to release.- Technically review, provide solutions, define and process engineering changes.- Maintain test plans (DVP&R), DFMEA, design specifications and other project documentation.- Redesign and cost-reduction of existing products may also be assigned, as needed. Skills and Experience Requirements: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is required - 8-10+ years of professional experience in Engineering, New Product Development, and/or Research & Development [R&D].- Experience using solid modeling software with complex assemblies, SolidWorks preferred.- Ability to use relevant simulation tools such as FEA or CFD is expected.- Demonstrated ability to take a concept to production, on-time and on-budget.- Design experience with complex plastic injection molding component design, castings, gears, plastic joining/assembly, metal stamping, pressure vessel design, elastomers, fixturing/gauging is preferred.- Experience with electro mechanics, rapid prototyping processes, assembly processes, and/or packaging/graphics is a preferred.- Experience with water treatment systems (including water softeners, filtration, filtration media, reverse osmosis, mechanisms/valves, and/or water chemistry) a plus.- Previous interaction with outside agencies (e.g. UL, NSF, WQA, etc.) is a plus. - Basic understanding of Intellectual Property law (especially patents/claims/searches) is a plus.- Availability for occasional travel in USA, Europe and Asia. Software Skills : a. Solidworks, Ansys, Altair Optistruct, Hypermeshb. Should be familiar and capable to work with MS office, MS project, CAD, SolidWorks, Pro-E. Qualifications and Experience: M.E. / M. Tech/PhD With minimum 8 years of experience in FEA domain. Travel.
