Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, test, and maintain who has a passion for tangible results. Youll be joining our Spark Engineering team, working on micro services support cyber security threat detection and remediation, as well as our Data loss protection product portfolio.This position collaborates with team members from US and Canadian offices and as such may require some overlap during the hours of 6-9 PM IST. It offers the flexibility to work from home during these overlap hours as well as the ability to adjust the remaining 5 hours in the office to minimalize commuting time and/or accommodate family schedules.In return for your skills, experience and passion, we offer a great salary, bonus & outstanding benefits package. In short, you bring the talent, and we will provide the environment, tools and share our development know-how to accelerate your professional growth & development.What you will doDesign and implement J2EE scalable applicationsDesign, implement and maintain Java-based scalable applications that can be high-volume and low-latency using common design patterns and conceptsUse Java to design, implement and support our multi-tiered Java solution with test-driven developmentUse modern software engineering tools and methodologies including IntelliJ IDEA/Eclipse, Spring boot, Docker, and Atlassian Products (Jira, Confluence)Present your solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the software system lifecycle methodologyWhat you need to bringSignificant and validated experience with Java/J2EE Development (object-oriented programming) within an Agile Application Development using Scrum methodologiesExcellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, JDBC (Java Database Connectivity), ORM technologies (JPA, Hibernate), Spring boot, and RESTful web servicesExperience in developing microservices using asynchronous message passing based on Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.Strong desire to create readable, testable, maintainable code using source control and CI/CD.Excellent communication skills, to clearly articulate solution design ideas in written and verbal form to technical audiences, as well as the ability to describe technical concepts to non-technical audiencesAbility to take initiative, prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervisionIntellectual curiosity, humility, accountability, and positive approachBS/MS Degree in Computer Science, (or related technical fields) or equivalent work experience is requiredAbove & BeyondIt would be great if you have knowledge of micro services, gitlab, Kubernetes and AWS knowledge but this isnt crucial.,
