• Guarantee service uptime and build innovative solutions to reduce component failure
• Support large number of concurrent users
• Build innovative monitoring systems that monitors the Computing infrastructure and the DB engine
• Provide guidance and support to Application Developers and Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
• Write and deploy SQL patches
• Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
• Collate, prepare and present statistical information for internal and external use
• Install and maintain the performance of database servers
• Develop processes for optimizing database security and Manage database access
• Install, upgrade, and manage database applications
• Create automation for repeating database tasks
• Be available for on-call support as needed
Job Skills
• Experience in debugging time critical DB problems like deadlock analysis and transaction locking.
• Experience in engineering solutions for data backup and encryption.
• Strong command of SQL and MySQL Tools like MySQL workbench, SQLYog
• Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
• Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
• Basic Unix shell scripting skills
• Familiarity with Storage engines, Cluster setup like InnoDB and NDB
• Experience on DB Migration from on-prem to Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) or on-prem to on-prem.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skills / Project Experience - good to have:
• Linux and Windows Admin
• Good knowledge on Performance tuning
• Knowledge in MySQL database Architecture and Management
• Knowledge on Storage Engines InnoDB, MyISAM
• Knowledge on High Availability like Replication and InnoDB cluster
• Knowledge on SQL
• Knowledge on Stored Procedures
