Skills EssentialAll requirements below will be expected to be demonstrated using specific examples from past commercial project work:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery processes, particularly Scrum
  • Ability to translate BDD style requirements into all of the relevant deliverables on the Appian platform (UI, workflows, data, integrations)
  • Ability to size work using agile measures (planning poker, t-shirt sizing etc.)
  • Lead, organise and prioritise the work of an Appian development pod following Scrum Agile processes
  • Ability to demonstrate a test-driven approach to delivery and apply it in the Appian platform
  • Produce design artefacts for Appian implementations based on interacting with SMEs and end users, building prototypes and analysing performance
  • Assist with enterprise system integration designs including components such as databases, web services and LDAP/Active Directory services
  • Demonstrable experience in leadership in terms of following Appian best practice
  • Ability to analyse, document, implement, test and support business processes built in Appian in large scale implementations
  • Test BPM processes developed by self and peers
  • A strong understanding of REST/JSON web services and how to integrate them with Appian
  • Experience with optimising Appian processes and use of data and integrations
Desirable
  • Prior experience in commercial software development using traditional object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, Python)
  • Prior experience designing and building data models
  • A strong understanding of application security (how to protect data, role-based access control, least privileged access etc.)
  • Prior experience as a software tester
  • Windows or Linux server administration
  • MS SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL database administration
