Job Description

* Synapse - Azure Data EngineerResponsibilities

  • Work in an Azure data warehouse environment, which includes developing database designs and architecture, data modelling and metadata repository creation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics PaaS Services, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Cosmos DB and other services within the Azure data analytics stack framework.
  • Works with Architects, Technical Leads and Business Teams and contributes to the development of technical designs.
  • Secure data migrations & transformations to/from clients, customers and vendors
  • Develops, constructs, tests and maintains Azure Data factory flows/pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of various data structures and the ability to extract data from various data sources (such as Cognos, Informatica, Hyperion, etc.).
  • Expose data to end users for consumption such as Power BI or other data integration sources ensuring that the proper security permissions are in place.
  • Provides technical database consultation on application development, global infrastructure, and other database administration efforts related to specific DBMS.
  • Experience in writing complex SQL queries and creating data models.
  • Proficient with data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, ability to manipulate raw data into effective visualization dashboards.
  • Proven experience performing large data migration and transformation efforts.
  • Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloging, and mapping for technical design and construction of technical data flows.
Desired Qualifications
  • Migrated Schemas and Stored procedures from an on-Premises SQL to Synapse
  • Migrate current ETL and SSIS packages to Synapse.
  • Expose data to end users using Power BI, Azure API Apps or other modern visualization platform or experience.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and data integration
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Github integration
  • Experience with using machine learning models and applications.
