Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager based in Australia, the Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the daily management of a wide range of database environments. Experience in Linux will be important for this role running on both cloud and on-premise environments and a background in Solaris and Sparc infrastructure is desirable. This is an operational and project-based role; encompassing design, delivery and run of production systems.How you will contributeYou will work within the Global Unix/Linux Team to provide quality services to external managed service clients as well as internal business units. You may be required to participate in an on-call roster system to support our global offices and clients.In this role you will be responsible for all levels of database management, maintenance, and overall design and consulting. Your success has come from having a broad exposure to database management design theory and performance optimization techniques. You are frequently called out for being a team player who is driven, your willingness to demonstrate initiative, and always being responsible and flexible to support client needs sometimes outside core business hours.This job will offer you opportunities to work in diverse environments and be responsible for the provision of system support across multiple domains, design/quote/delivery projects as well as consulting and pre-sales opportunities.You will be involved in a range of activities including:Installing, configuring and upgrading of Oracle server software and related productsEvaluating Oracle features and Oracle related productsEstablishing and maintaining sound backup and recovery policies and proceduresImplementing and maintaining database securityReviewing changes to data models and migration scriptsManaging both non-production and production database environmentsCreating, refreshing pre-production databases via methods including restore, clone and datapumpPerforming general technical trouble shooting and providing consultation to development teamsWorking with development teams in writing complex SQL if neededCreating and maintaining PL/SQL modulesSizing, designing and installing Oracle databases including Oracle RAC and DataguardInterfacing with Oracle Corporation for technical support.Patch Management and Version ControlProviding 24/7 support when requiredTravelOccasional travel may be required to other Hansen support centres based primarily in London, Denmark and Norway. The role might also require travel to Australia or the USA.Our Ideal PersonOur ideal person is an experienced Oracle DBA. With a least 5 years Oracle and the last 3 years working across Oracle 11g or 12c RAC and Dataguard, you love what you do and things like:the ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring,knowledge of all Oracle backup and recovery scenarios andknowledge of Oracle patching and security management have seen you become a trusted advisor within your team, development teams, vendors and system administrators.In addition to this you have a strong knowledge and skills in:SQL and PL/SQL developmentExperience with Oracle DataPumpExperience working on Linux , Unix and MS Windows SystemsIf you have all of the above as well as:DBA Certifications and/or experience in MS SQL-Server highly regardedKnowledge of AWS Cloud Technologies including Virtual Servers (EC2), Storage (S3), database (RDS) and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) highly regardedExperience monitoring databases with Oracle Enterprise Manager or Solar WindsExperience with Oracle Diagnostics and Tuning modulesPlease Note: Recruitment for this role will be co-managed in Pune and Melbourne (Australia) candidates may receive calls from Australia as part of the phone screening or interview process.,
