"This position is for a senior engineer/developer to be responsible for the design, development and delivery of the strategic Discovery solution for use across the Barclays group.Your RoleEngineer and maintain the Discovery and Enterprise Systems solution for BarclaysDeliver solutions using Agile software development processesManage and (where appropriate) undertake the building of relevant infrastructure and software required to create the Development, Test and Production environmentsTake technical decisions to ensure optimal performance and stability of the platformParticipate and feed into roadmap and strategic direction of productKeep stakeholders appraised of progress and issuesWork closely with BA s, Architects, Testing team and process teamsAssess, and where appropriate, act on requests for enhancements to the platformIdentify areas of process and tooling improvement and provide solutions to ensure tool is protected in process, security and performance aspectsEnsure gaps are clearly identified and reported to BA/stake holdersWork closely with vendor resources to meet development deadlines in case of larger projectsTake respective ownership as an individual contributor throughout the project lifecycleEssential SkillsExperience of engineering Discovery solutions (e.g. ServiceNow Discovery / Mapping, BMC ADDM) in complex environments with various component types (e.g. servers, network devices, VMWare, applications) and relationshipsStrong scripting skills (e.g. Javascript, Powershell, VBScript, Bash, Perl), experience using RESTful APIsExposure some key ServiceNow modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, Knowledge, Service (Request) CatalogueGood knowledge of Windows and Linux Server administrationKnowledge and experience of Network managementITIL Foundation certified or above and deep understanding of a CMDB and relationshipsDesirable SkillsExperience of Engineering large Enterprise Systems (e.g. Discovery & Inventory Systems, Software Asset Management, Monitoring Solutions) with global coverage across a variety of operating system and application platformsGood MSSQL Database management skillsGood understanding of various protocols such as SNMP, WMI, WinRM, SSH, NETBIOS, HTTPS.Deployment, Security and Cloud experience or awareness.,"
