Job Description

Work with Application Development, Information Security, Infrastructure Provisioning, and Operations team to provide fully automated build and deployment routines for development, staging, and production environments to deliver quality software solutions. Understand the application, infrastructure and DevOps tool chain relationship, design the environment, CI/ CD pipeline, and scripts. Provide requirements and suggestions, monitor the requirement changes, understand the complexity, plan the release execution, and guide resources to bring the successful completion of release deployment goals and objectives. Work closely with delivery and architecture teams for this. Work with the Project Manager and Account Manager, help develop project plans; identify development and project risks and collaborates on mitigation strategies. Assist in effort estimation and planning. Communicate effectively with all the stakeholders and be obtain information as necessary. Lead performance engineering and capacity planning exercises. Mentor and guide junior members in the team. Responsible for implementing, and driving best practices for enterprise deployments and software development lifecycle automation. Keep up- to- date with latest technologies, trends and provide inputs / recommendations to project manager as required. Envision and create the high level architecture and solution design (conceptual model, integration model, design strategy) for Microsoft based systems for Enterprise and ISV customers. Work with project delivery teams, business users, and stakeholders to understand both functional and technical requirements, conduct assessment of current business and technology architectures and make application architecture decisions. Identify key business and technology drivers that impact application architectures, such as user requirements, existing application environment and performance requirements. Translate enterprise vision or business needs into long- term architecture solutions. Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with client s business goals and technical objectives. Identify and recommend appropriate technology stacks, tools, frameworks and integration strategies for off- the- shelf solutions or third party packages. Participate in the Architecture Review Board, providing technical guidance and design review / validation to strategic projects. Contribute to the development and evolution of the portfolio of reference architectural strategy including development models, frameworks, reusable assets, design strategy (e.g. management, integration and optimization) , and apply to ongoing projects and initiatives. Use this portfolio to provide guidance to project teams regarding principles of system/ application design, coding, standards and system performance. Review, advice and design standards, risks, costs versus benefits and impact on the enterprise business process & goals. Conduct research on emerging technologies, trends and solutions areas in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility. Mentor software development teams, encourage adoptions of latest technologies, promote use of best practices and design patterns. Candidate Profile Education: B.E. / B. Tech / MCA / MCS10 + years of overall experience in information technology.Must have experience of over 1- 2 year with automation / configuration management using Chef, Puppet, Ansible or an equivalent DevOps tool and automation framework.Must be able to code n either Java, Python, Node.js, or PHPUnderstand the complete deployment lifecycle from design, build, test and deploy stages.Must have ability to build and deploy system infrastructure in a cloud- focused environment while providing operational advice to developers when appropriate.Knowledge and Skills: Strong background in Linux / Unix Administration is essential Expertise in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure) Familiarity with one or more version control systems (SVN, Git) Exposure to Virtualization software Vagrant Experience in application deployment tools Jenkins (CI/ CD) and their strategies Exposure to NoSQL database administration tools like MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, etc. Must have experience in databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres) Must have experience in managing application and web services in a highly- virtualized environment. This is extremely essential for this position.Exposure to security concepts and best practices is required.Must have a DevOps background.Lead automation teams and help develop tool set to reach Silicus goal of attaining continuous delivery.
