Job Description and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY Purpose To deliver safe, fit for purpose electrical designs to an agreed schedule to meet a pre agreed budget. Nature and Scope The job holder is one of the key members of the design team having responsibility for the electrical design. Based on the execution strategy the job holder will be responsible for performing electrical design on projects. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Safety and rigorous adherence to relevant specifications and standards for all Electrical designs.
  • Accountable for the safety and engineering scope adherence in accordance with project specifications & standards.
  • Implementation of quality procedures and contribute to continuous implementation of improvement activities.
  • Generate documents like Single Line diagrams, Power layouts, lighting layouts, earthing layouts, tray layouts, cable schedules, JB Schedules, motor schematics, Hazardous area layouts, MTOs, Electrical room layouts etc.
  • 3D modelling of cable trays, JBs etc
  • Support development of electrical design strategies.
  • Effectively communicate by email, ppt or face to face AP s execution strategies, schedule issues and project requirements.
  • Develop common work practices within engineering organization.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Diploma in electrical and work experience of around 8 - 12 years experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills
  • Experience comparable with the grade in a relevant industry.
  • Must be familiar with an engineering organization, the function of each discipline and how they interact and the function of the various support groups globally.
  • Experience to generate all electrical design deliverables like layouts (cable, power, lighting, earthing), schematics, E& I interface schedule, cable schedules, SLDs, MTOs, 3D modelling etc.
  • Experience working with tools like Micro station and 3D Modelling software SP3D or PDS.
  • Experience of producing interconnection diagram is an advantage.
  • Site experience/coordination with site team is a plus.
  • Experience / Exposure of using global engineering standards
  • Experience of working on NEC standard is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of plant layouts and model review meetings
  • Experience of interdepartmental coordination with various discipline like Piping, Civil and Instrumentations and capability to resolve issues.
  • Experience of working on FEED packages is desirable.
  • Knowledge of cable sizing and producing Cable schedule is desirable
