Job Description

  • Split your time between developing solutions that increase the reliability of an internal IoT Platform running in Microsoft Azure and Ops/On-call duties. We are targeting a 50/50 split.
  • Apply automation and software to any tasks or parts of the system that would benefit from it or are performed manually.
  • Respond to and mitigate any support escalation issues by restoring normal service operations, cleaning up, and conducting postmortems.
  • Work closely with software engineers and testers to ensure the system is responding properly to no-functional requirements such as performance, security, and availability.
  • Help build a Site Reliability Engineering culture across the organization by sharing your best practices, approaches, documentation, and code with other engineering teams.
  • Optimize existing on-call and support rotation processes that ultimately improve system reliability.
  • Document your system knowledge as you acquire it over time, create runbooks, and ensure critical system information is readily available to those who need it.
Qualifications
  • BE/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA
  • 1-4 years of progressive experience in software industry developing, designing, and deploying technology solutions shipping high quality products
  • 1-3 yrs of experience on C# and .Net
  • 2+ yrs of experience working with Azure
  • Experience utilizing best practices in software engineering
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts
  • Experience developing, deploying, and monitoring applications in the Microsoft Azure or AWS ecosystems
  • Teamwork, communication, strong interpersonal skills across cultural and organizational boundaries
  • Strong problem solving and software debugging skills
  • Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Good judgment, time management, collaboration, and decision-making skills
  • Intermediate level skills in C# or Python and associated IDE s (Visual Studio, Eclipse, PyCharm, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of other languages such as Java, C++, or Scala
  • Basic understanding of relational and non-relational database systems
  • Basic understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures
  • Solid understanding of concepts such as latency, performance, availability, efficiency, change management, and monitoring
  • Basic understanding of automation concepts, automatic provisioning of software and infrastructure, logging, and visualization of statistics
  • Understanding of Databases and concepts (relational and non-relational like sqlserver, cosmos, mongodb etc.)
  • Working knowledge of security concepts such as encryption, certificates, and key management
  • Strong problem solving and software debugging skills
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts, tools, and technologies
