Job Description

Description and RequirementsFrom core to cloud to edge, BMC delivers the software and services that enable over 10,000 global customers, including 84% of the Forbes Global 100, to thrive in their ongoing evolution to an Autonomous Digital Enterprise.Job Overview:The Director is a stand-alone FDR Distributed application written in Java that runs only on the Windows platform. There are minor Win API calls in the code.The WebPortal is a browser-based application that runs in either Unix System Services under z/OS or with z/Linux running under z/VM.Primary roles and Responsibility:

  • As a practice, you would need to perform required source updates
  • One of your responsibility would be to Review/resolve customer issues
  • All activities related to designing, developing, and troubleshooting distributed applications would be a part of your activity.
  • You would need to define functional specifications, provide design information for product enhancements and maintenance.
  • Design and execute test plans would be part of your job role for functional and non-functional validation, document test results.
  • You as a team player would need to accurately estimate the size and scope of development and testing effort of projects.
  • One of the abilities you would need to possess would be to manage a mixed workload of multiple ongoing tasks including new function development and product maintenance.
  • You as a team player would need to work closely with the architects/developers, Quality Assurance Reps, technical publications, and other team members.

Qualification:10+ years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, implementing, and troubleshooting distributed applications The DirectorThe Director is a stand-alone FDR Distributed application written in Java that runs only on the Windows platform.   • Strong experience with Java and Windows software development
  • Strong knowledge in socket programming
  • Knowledge of Java AWT (Abstract Windows Toolkit)
  • Knowledge of Java Swing
  • Experience with JNI (Java Native Interface)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft COM (Common Object Model) is a plus
  • Knowledge of product software installation and configuration on Windows servers
The WebPortalThe WebPortal is a browser-based application that runs in either Unix System Services under z/OS or with z/Linux running under z/VM.
  • Strong experience with Apache Tomcat and IBM WebSphere
  • Strong experience building Web-based applications with HTML/CSS
  • Strong experience building web-based applications using Java
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP / HTTPS
  • Knowledge of JPA (Java Persistence API)
  • Knowledge of the Quartz Scheduler is a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, or Apache Derby is a plus
  • Exposure to mainframe software and operating system environments is a plus, including:
    • z/OS Unix System Services
    • z/Linux under z/VM
