Job Description and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY This position provides first line support and management of the production Batch Schedule in Automic (UC4). The position scope includes responsibility for planning, designing and implementing integrated batch schedules across all Global IT computing platforms with a primary focus on the ERP/SAP environment. The Batch Schedule Management team is accountable for the successful execution of over 500,000 production batch jobs per month. The incumbent will work closely with SAP Basis Team, development, infrastructure and database engineering teams so that batch schedule changes can be implemented effectively. Rotating duties also include management of batch schedules during monthly Releases, Server Maintenance (patching) management, and periodic SAP landscape refreshes. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure new/revised Batch Jobs and Job Plans are scheduled and operate as expected
  • Implement new jobs via ServiceNow Batch Turnover process.
  • Participate in monitoring of the Batch Team Queue; fulfill requests, execute tasks and resolve incidents.
  • Interface with SAP Basis Team to plan and modify ERP batch schedule.
  • Provide first line Automic (UC4) application support.
  • Manage batch outages in conjunction with Batch Schedule Automation Engineering Team
  • Partner with Applications and other stakeholder teams to implement automation of infrastructure jobs.
  • Engineer and support Automic (UC4) scripts used in conjunction with job automation.
  • Participation in 7x24 on - call support rotation responsibilities.
  • Participation in Automic (UC4) version upgrades; primary testing, management of client testing
  • Rotating participation in management of batch scheduling during Minor and Major Releases.
  • Rotating participation in management of monthly server maintenance
  • Periodic participation in SAP landscape refresh
  • Participation in fulfillment of Audit inquiries to ensure SOX compliance
  • Implement improvements to batch jobs and plans as identified through incident investigation and analysis, using standard ITIL Change management principles.
  • Create and revise process documentation used by the team
  • Participate in Global IT projects to advise on batch scheduling as required by business needs.
  • Understand, adhere to and execute adopted ITIL practices for Change, Incident, Problem and Release Management as required.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise to project teams and support teams as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, specialized training, certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years of experience designing and implementing batch jobs and job plans
  • Automic (UC4) experience preferred
  • Powershell or other scripting experience required
  • Strong analytical and logical approach to troubleshooting; refined problem - solving skills are essential
  • Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communications skills in order to effectively communicate with clients inside and outside of IT
  • General understanding of Project Management methodology
  • General understanding of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and processes (ITIL)
  • Ability to assess and prioritize competing issues and opportunities
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and develop solutions needed to resolve them
  • Ability to effectively work independently and collaboratively across global, cross organizational team environments and participate in virtual projects, work requests or activities
  • Able to prioritize and meet milestones when working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
