The IT Automation Engineer will be part of our global IT Services team in Pune. The Role As the IT Automation Engineer you will have a strong background in IT Automation Management, Computer Programming and Software Development in both cloud and on-premise environments. Ideally you will also have a strong understanding and knowledge of ITIL and appropriate Automation Technologies. This is an operational and project-based role; encompassing design, delivery and run of production systems.Working with the Global IT Services Team you will be responsible for providing quality services to external managed service clients as well as internal business units.This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to work in diverse environments and be responsible for the provision of IT Services Globally. How you will contribute This is a busy and challenging role, which will see you undertake a range of activities including:

  • Ability to develop Automation workflows - ability to visualise desired outcome and develop logical process steps to achieve outcomes
  • Working knowledge and experience with IT Automation tools to reduce workload/ effort to IT Services
  • End to end management of Automation Run Books and workflows including developing, testing and deploying to production
  • Creation and integration of Web Services
  • Monitor Automation workloads and pro-actively address any failures by fixing associated run-books/workflows
  • Administration of Service Management tool Ivanti Service Manager
  • Develop Request Offerings using Administration interface and configuration of corresponding workflows
  • Work to fulfil minor enhancements, change requests and bug fixes
  • Reports generation and scheduling on an ad-hoc basis involved with the implementation of system and cloud services
  • Responsible for change management activities related workflows and automation scripting.
  • Co-ordinate and arrange support of newly implemented systems services with the Global Unix/Linux Team
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Global IT and IT Vendors
  • Deliver work that is of a high-quality standard that meets organisational quality assurance requirements
  • Design, Build and deliver with a focus on the delivery and ongoing management of all global service management processes and automation scripts
  • Provide Technical Leadership that ensures a strong focus on service continuity, helps us do business and achieves the global IT Strategy.
Travel
  • Occasional travel may be required to other Hansen support centres based primarily in London, Denmark, Norway, Australia or the USA.

  • Software Development Lifecyle
  • Experience developing in languages C#, Java, HTTP, Perl
  • Experience developing against REST/SOAP APIs
  • Experience developing in Windows PowerShell
  • Experience in Unix/Linux shell scripting
  • Experience with SQL Scripting
  • Demonstrated history integrating discrete systems to achieve operational efficiencies
  • Experience using Orchestration software such as Puppet, Ansible or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Overall understanding of IT Service Management ITIL core processes including Incident, Service Request, Change, Event/Alert, Asset Mgmt. including CMDB
  • Working knowledge/ Hands-on experience of Administration of Service Management toolsets
  • Understanding of IT Management tools like SCCM, SolarWinds, Puppet
  • Ivanti Automation (RES software automation) and Ivanti Service Manager skills highly regarded
