  • EIIC - ES - EMEA - CS - Life Safety has an opening for an Embedded Hardware - Lead Engineer position who is passionate about his/her trade, to join our team in leading the design, development and testing of embedded Hardware projects for Emergency Lighting & Fire Systems products in Electrical Domain. Positions main responsibility would be to enhance existing and/or develop new hardware designs/technology that enables the launch of new digital and intelligent IOT products. Provide technical solutions, follow defined processes & lead in hardware development & technology innovations. Should demonstrate Right to Left thinking (starting with consideration for end user).
  • Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, strong motivation for pursuing project objectives and the ability to learn new techniques and development processes. We are looking for candidates who are able to see the bigger picture; strength in a system-level viewpoint is a must. Problem solvers who are excited about learning new technologies, coding scripts, and designing infrastructure in an automation-first environment will excel in this environment.
  • Lead the Embedded Hardware development for controls of life safety critical Systems like Emergency Lighting, Fire Systems.
  • Research, review, and implement best-practices, new and emerging technologies, and design patterns to new and existing development.
  • Maintain and enhance technical proficiency in embedded hardware engineering related development environments, processes, and tools.
  • Plan and manage development work to achieve on-time delivery on product development projects.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with product owners and systems, hardware, embedded software, applications, and manufacturing development teams to produce engineering designs and specifications for new features and enhancements.
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks as they arise during development.
  • Perform Design reviews with peers and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced members of the team in all aspects of hardware development.
  • Generate ideas and innovative solutions which will provide competitive edge to business products.
  • Think creatively and come out with new proposals and present them to stakeholders.
  • Develop design guidelines, best practices and lessons learnt documents and shares with peers and team.
  • Actively participates in paper presentations, tech talks and external university forums.
  • Estimate workload, establish and maintain project schedules and monitor progress through the project execution phases.
  • Contribute to team s technical growth by engaging in technical discussion and mentoring.
  • Active communication with the cross functional team to ensure schedule, cost and performance alignment
QualificationsRequirement:
  • Bachelor s/Master s degree in engineering in Electronics
  • Years and area of experience required: 13-15 years
  • Experience in designing analog, digital and mixed signals circuits.
  • Hands on experience in designing circuits involving high speed micro-controllers, microprocessors and peripherals-based designs.
  • Good experience in board level testing, troubleshooting and debugging issues in hardware design.
  • Strong knowledge of EMI / EMC certification and environmental compliances UL /IEC / RoHS / REACH etc.
  • Sound experience on simulation tools like PSpice, LTSpice, Model Sim, etc.
  • Experience with printed circuit board layout design involving tools like Altium and Allegro.
  • Preferred knowledge on wireless & wireline hardware design using WiFi, Zigbee, Bluetooth protocols and Power Line Communication (PLC).
  • Preferred knowledge on designing production testers and simulators.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of power systems, network protectors, switchgear, and/or regulator controls products/applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Problem solving skills, Working in ambiguity, process management
