Job Description

  • EIIC Power Quality Division (PQD-ES Americas) has an opening for an Lead Hardware Engineer position who is passionate about his/her trade, to join our team in leading the design, development and testing of Hardware projects for Power Quality products in Electrical Domain. This position is part of the 10-200kVA New Product Introduction development team. The Lead Electrical and Systems engineer is responsible for the development of 3-phase power conversion and distribution products from initial proposal through production launch for the power conversion market. This role is responsible for leading large scale global platform engineering activities across the functions of electrical, mechanical, and embedded software engineering to develop Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Energy Storage products, and associated Accessories.
  • Job Responsibilities
  • Technical lead for global platform new product development projects, accountable for meeting schedule, cost and product performance goals.
  • Creates work breakdown schedules, test plans, and sets milestone priorities for cross functional development team.
  • Supports Engineering Management and Program Management in making tactical engineering decisions, setting program schedule, cost targets, and product specifications.
  • Conceptualizes and evaluates high level system architectural considerations involving electrical, software, and mechanical cross-disciplinary principles to meet product development requirements factoring in performance, cost, and schedule.
  • Champions innovative solutions in semiconductor device, power electronics topology, magnetics, thermal, and digital controls functions.
  • Demonstrates creativity and innovation leadership; is able to create and productize new and unique ideas.
  • Demonstrates process management capability and determines necessary processes to accomplish goals.
  • Creates, maintains, and reviews product development requirement specifications including product management and customer requirements.
  • Writes and maintains functional specifications of design solutions.
  • Accurately analyzes, simulates, and reviews power electronics, analog, logical, and digital circuits, including transient analysis and state machine change analysis.
  • Keeps track of latest power electronics, embedded software and controls strategies and shares knowledge across organization.
  • Encourages teamwork amongst team members and works jointly and independently with members of the Raleigh Engineering team
Qualifications Requirement:
  • Education level required
  • Bachelor s/Master s degree in engineering in Electronics
  • Years and area of experience required
  • 10-13 years
  • Technical knowledge
  • Strong experience in power electronic, power converter topologies and magnetics design.
  • Sound experience in analyzing, troubleshooting and programming microcontrollers based design circuits.
  • Hands on experience in developing schematics and reviewing and approving board layouts.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting new design issues to root cause.
  • Strong experience in using common tools and methods to work in high power lab environment including: oscilloscope, power analyzers and meters
  • Strong knowledge of EMI / EMC certification and environmental compliances UL /IEC / RoHS / REACH etc.
  • Sound experience on simulation tools like PSpice, LTSpice, Matlab, etc.
  • Experience with printed circuit board layout design involving tools like Altium and Allegro.
  • Preferred knowledge on designing production testers and simulators.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision
