Job Description

    The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE, Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), EV.cloud, eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.Responsibilities:o Provide continuous leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to higher performance levels and career developmento Evaluate performance through clear goals and objectiveso Attract, develop and retain talent to maintain a high performing teamo Resolve both technical and human resource issueso Work with the Product Owner to plan and execute projectso Collaborate with the Support, Sales and other stakeholders to deliver solutions to customer requests and escalationso Collaborate and coach the team on customer interactions and communicationo Collaborate with Product Management and Architects to define the product visiono Communicate and collaborate among cross-functional teams in a multi-national environmento Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solvingo Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environmento Participates in team discussion on continuous improvementRequirements:o 5+ years software development experience preferably with Java, C++, C or Pythono 2+ years of people management experienceo Working knowledge of one or more of Linux distros, Drivers, BIOS & Firmware requiredo Hands-on experience with shell or other scripting requiredo Exposure to CI/CD tools, Jenkins, Ansible desired.o Experience working with large scale distributed engineering teamso Experience with Agile software development including user stories, TDD, continuous integration, pair programming, automated testingo Exposure to working with customers on special features, requests or escalationso Takes ownership and has a sense of pride in their worko Excellent communication skills, both oral and writteno Continually looking for ways to improveo Sets a very high bar in terms of qualityo Outstanding problem-solving and organizational skillso Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required,
