JOB FUNCTIONS (ESSENTIAL)- Level 1 Development of core and/or application specific mechanical requirements for automotive electronics. Develop mechanical hardware in compliance with Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP). Verify mechanical requirements at component and assembly level testing. Support rest of the functional disciplines with all aspects related to mechanical hardware. Perform detailed work assignments provided by the mentor or team member, by applying established and well defined mechanical engineering techniques. Work assignments primarily involve entry level or intermediate work. Mechanical Engineer (Design) - Requirements analysis, Mechanical architecture development, component design and assembly management - In depth analysis, simulation, development of design documentation (3D models, 2D drawings, ME/EE interface, DFMEA) - Optimization of design for cost, manufacturability and quality - Experience in thermal management - Thermal analysis of electronic assemblies - Thermal mitigation strategies (Conduction paths, convection surfaces) Experience in electronic enclosure sealing analysis and design - Dispensed sealants - Laser/Vibration weld sealing - Fixed gasket sealing - Enclosure seal testing Mechanical Engineer (Project Lead) - Main customer interface for all mechanical hardware related activities including customer design reviews, clarify and negotiate customer requirements for the project - Lead then planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of all mechanical related activities for various projects Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations. Maintains regular attendance. Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event. Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS) JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience Level 1 Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Master s preferred) 0-4 years relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above) in serial development. Automotive component development (mandatory). Mechanical Engineer (Design) - Knowledge in mechanical hardware design for automotive applications following automotive standards Mechanical Engineer (Project Lead) - Experience with customer interface for all Mechanical related activities Working knowledge in structured engineering approach Working knowledge in development of reusable mechanical hardware in automotive environment. Troubleshooting and debugging skills Knowledge of structured problem solving (8D) methods and/or techniques Knowledge of mechanical design, simulation and testing techniques. Role / Specialization specific: - Mechanical Engineer (Design) - Mechanical Engineer (Project Lead) Computer Level 1 Knowledge of MS Office package (Excel/Powerpoint/Word/OneNote) Knowledge of mechanical engineering tools - Mechanical computer aided design (NX, Catia, ProE) - Mechanical data management (Teamceneter) - Mechanical CAE (Ansys Mechanical, Solidworks analysis) Mechanical Engineer (Project Lead) - MS Project Language Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written) For positions located in non-English speaking locations, knowledge of the local working language is an asset. Advanced knowledge (verbal &written) of local language required. Travel Travel (domestic and international) may be needed Abilities- Level 1 Able to work effectively in a global environment.
