Job Description

Evolent Health is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer, MicroStrategy Report Development to be a key member of the technology leadership team. This individual will play a critical role in executing Evolent Health s mission by developing reporting solutions approach around MicroStrategy Business Intelligence, Visual Insight, Data exploration, dashboard and reporting.Responsibilities: Responsible for helping to establish and maintain enterprise guidelines for MicroStrategy platform reporting in multiple Evolent environments. Responsible for creating the best practices for MicroStrategy report, document and dashboard creation. Need to make sure the team is following the process. Responsible for being the Expert in MicroStrategy BI development components Desktop designer, Web Reporter, Dashboard building, mobile application building, OLAP cube building/ usage, Custom Groups, Metrics etc. From scratch, lead the team to create the MicroStrategy analytics environment reporting that will be built on the semantic layer on several Evolent existing star- schema data marts. The selected candidate will play a crucial role responsible for developing reporting solutions approach around MicroStrategy Business Intelligence, Visual Insight, Data exploration, dashboard and reporting. Understand analytics, clinical basics, and stratification as related to Evolent s business model. Participate in application development IT shop run through the requirement, design, development, QA SDLC cycles with a focus on BI technologies. Hands- on in designing and development of software solutions and software requirements related core components and foundational frameworks for reporting. Help to resolve questions of program intent, software requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls. Collaborates with team and business owners in the development and/ or execution of all types of software development considering the objectives of the organization. Participate in the full systems life cycle with solution design, development, implementation, and product support using scrum and other agile methodologies. Help explore and implement new technologies. Provides thought leadership in the areas of strategy and technology. Develop software using known best practices with test driven development. Participate in development process improvements of our continuous integrations services. Communicates the status and forecasting of these projects to the internal clients through a variety of methods including project status reports. Researches competitive online marketing presence/ campaigns and maintains a pulse on industry trends and systems; bringing forth ideas that embrace emerging technology/ executions and innovative ideas. Produces and implements visual enhancements to existing designs as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Bachelor s Degree 5+ years of hands- on experience in IT as lead software engineer or lead reporting developer in the field of BI, ETL and/ or reporting 3+ years of experience and an expert in MicroStrategy report/ dashboard development Some form of MicroStrategy Certification is mandatory, e.g., MicroStrategy Certified Developer (MCD), Certified Platform Administrator (CPA), MicroStrategy Certified Engineer (MCE), Certified Engine Specialist (CES) Preferred Strong knowledge in MicroStrategy document interactivity options Strong understanding of MicroStrategy architecture and ability to create semantics layer objects (metrics, etc.) Experience in other comparable technologies (BusinessObject, Cognos) Strong knowledge in writing and analyzing SQL queries Experience in Healthcare IT is a plus Experience in software development SDLC for large high production impact systems Proficient with system design, security, performance, automated testing, change management Proactive, self- starter, intense intellectual curiosity and an ability to view old problems with a fresh perspective Ability to work in a startup environment with small focused team of engineers at rapid speed to deliver the software Excellent written computer and oral communication skills ,
