Job description: Project Engineer (Generators) Within the GECIA Power Technique engineering team we are looking for a experienced project engineer. As a member of a engineering team, the project engineer contributes to the development of generator package design. The development must be done in accordance with the applicable procedures and ensure compliance with the main specification requirements in all aspects (product functionality and quality, development timing & cost, execution costs,...). Within this mission, the project engineer will apply his / her creativity to achieve an innovative and quality design. Mission * Specify, design, develop and design technical solutions (for a new product or modification of an existing product concept, etc.) in line with the specified specification and applicable rules and procedures. * Being responsible for designing a (new) product in line with all specifications, taking into account the cost, quality and manufacturability of the product. * Executing the design assignment on the basis of specialized drawing and design programs from concept to detailed drawing * Delivery of drawings, parts lists and technical instructions that describe the design based on predefined specifications * Systematic safeguarding of existing and newly acquired knowledge * Keeping yourself constantly informed of the evolutions within the market, keeping your own knowledge up-to-date in function of the new developments * Prepare for release of releated engineering documents via DN after consultation with project engineer * Prepare technical / functional specifications for machine/sheet-metal parts with the project engineer * Assessing the impact of the design of the machined/sheet-metal parts on overall product integrity * Provide training to starting designers * Person should work independently and support project leader for on time in full project deliverables. * Look for the innovative techniques other than standard practices been followed. * Should do pre study of the assigned activity and come up with proposal followed by Proes and Cons. * Has quick understanding & analytical ability to identify potential problems. * Take initiatives and interact with team. * Participate in technical discussions within the team with focus on - Quality and manufacturability of the product. Experience requirements - Should have a strong technical background of generator performance functionalities & development experience generator packages & canopies for various applications of generators. -Should have good understanding about the engineering activities & lifecycle within an organization. - Should be proficient in Creo & Autodesk Inventor. Knowledge of PDM systems- Windchill, & ERP (BPCS) is an advantage. - Should have a indepth knowledge of generator components & shall be acquainted with component selection. - Should have a good knowledge about GD&T. - Should have process knowledge of casted parts, heavy fabrication, sheet-metal canopy design, welded parts, surface finish and treatments. Know-how of various sheet-metal canopy designs and sheet-metal processes will be an added advantage. Educational / Skill requirements B.E Mechanical with minimum 3-5 years of experience. The successful candidate should have a good mix of the following: - Basic knowledge to understand the function, relationship, and assembly-sequence of parts and assemblies - Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Personality requirements - Good in communication skills in English. - Clear & precise communication good communicator. - Good in interpersonal skills including self-starter and positive approach. - Good sense of urgency. - Should be customer focused. - Should be a team player with learning attitude. - Capable of working under time pressure in order to respect deadlines - Fast learner
