Description and RequirementsThis position requires the development and maintenance of automation with a goal to increase operational efficiency reduce manual and error-prone methods to perform different operations tasks. This position will require working very closely with:BMC Helix Cloud Ops TeamsBMC Helix Support TeamsBMC Helix Infrastructure Teams - - Database, Networking, Security, and Platform.BMC Professional Services & third-party Consulting teamsBMC Helix CustomersYou should be a Qualified (L3/L4 Level) DevOps and automation engineer with the following skillset:Primary Roles and Responsibilities:You will fulfill the responsibilities of a DevOps and automation engineer working on cloud-native technologies.You are responsible for developing tooling, automation, CI/CD pipeline to operationalize BMC Helix servicesYou will write automation for complex deployment procedures and significantly reduce human efforts involved in day to day operational tasks and maintenance activitiesYou will collaborate with multiple cross-functional departments and teams including R&D, IS&T, Support and OperationsAutomate and apply development principles to operational practices for overall SaaS Service managementEnsuring topmost quality and rapid issue resolution for reported defectsCoordinate with Product/Engineering Teams to get the quick resolution of issues and or product defects.Perform tasks related to customer Escalations and share expertise in the resolution of issues related to different deployed automation tools and services.Qualifications8+ years of experience working experience for a software engineering firmExpertise in Python, Groovy, Ansible, Shell scriptingExpertise in creating and maintaining Jenkins pipelinesHands-on experience with CICD pipelines and maintenance of containerized deploymentsHands-on experience working with Web service protocols (Rest, JSON)Hands-on experience working with DevOps and Automation tools like Git, Selenium, Docker, Helm, Terraform, Jira, Harbor RegistryHands-on experience working in Kubernetes environment, OpenShift, Rancher.Hands-on experience working on Windows and Linux Operation System platforms.Good exposure and fundamental knowledge of Relational DBs (PostgreSQL, MS SQL)Good exposure and fundamental knowledge of container deployments, persistent storage, PODs, ingress, routes and K8 objects.Good exposure and fundamental knowledge of tools like Elastic Search, Kibana, Grafana, PrometheusGood exposure and fundamental knowledge Public, Private and hybrid cloud deploymentsExperience working in an Agile methodology with cross functional teams (R&D, DevOps, Operations, Support etc.)Able to design & document the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), design document and architecture artifactsKnowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principlesGood troubleshooting skills and knowledge of BMC Helix products including ITSM, Digital Workplace, Helix Platform.Ability to work with time bound deadlinesHard Working & dedicated person with effective communication skillsBachelors degree in IT or equivalent experienceBMC helps customers run and reinvent their businesses in the digital age by tackling their IT management challenges, championing their innovation, and celebrating their success.Every BMC employee has the potential to have a tremendous impact on customer successand when customers thrive, we all do.BMC offers bold and fearless career-seekers like you the opportunity to expand your skills, your network, and your horizons as you work to enable customer growth and innovation every day.
