Job Description

    Job Summary
    • Eaton Corporation s Life Safety business in Electrical Sector EMEA has an opening for a Sr, Software Engineer who is passionate about his or her craft. The Software Engineer will be directly involved in the architecture, design, and development of the DevOps pipeline for projects in life safety business starting with Digital Solutions projects.
    • In this role the DevOps Engineer main charter is to define Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) consistently for Cloud Frameworks, Cloud/On-Prem Applications, Gateways and Eaton devices. It is archited in a way that it is suitable for both Eaton and 3rd party developers. For Eaton Digital transformation APIs are critical to reading and writing data at multiple locations in the technology stack of Brightlayer.

    • Life Safety group will be part of a global organization focused on providing reusable technology platforms and services to Eaton product teams.

He/She is Efficient and takes accountability to assigned charter which fits in to overall Goals of Embedded domain which comprise of embedded software, connectivity, industrial networking and Internet of things (IoT) technologies and solutions.
    Job Responsibilities
    • Responsible to define SCM to handle multi-team and multi-site Embedded / Cloud software development.
    • Expertise in CI/CD, DevOps using GitHug Enterprise, Azure DevOps and cloud technology.
    • Responsible for Full Platform Integration pipeline - covering Build on multi branch. Hosting intermediate build outcomes and archiving binaries on Artifactory (Jfrog)
    • Orchestrating builds and test setups using Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Responsible to put in place static checks in automation build systems involving tools like BlackDuck (ProtexIP), Coverity, Klocwork, etc
    • Responsible to put in pace dynamic checks involving interaction with real Hardware device and also emulators and simulators.
    • Collaborating with Validation efforts to help with automation.
    • Defining the customer delivery strategy, act as gatekeeper to maintain the quality of the releases.
    • Responsible to report global program leaders on progress of Release and Validation of packages with decisions on defining Quality and feature matrix.
    Qualifications Qualifications Education level required:
    • Required: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science /Electronics/Electrical Engineering from reputed college.
    • Desired: Master s degree in Computer Science /Electronics/Electrical or Engineering.
    Years and area of experience required:
    • Overall Industry experience to be around 6+ Years.
    • 6+ years of experience in embedded C, C++ programming, Python, data structures on embedded system.
    • 4+ years of experience in DevOps.
    Technical Knowledge:
    • Git, Python, Scripting, C/C++, Yocto, Gerrit, Jenkins, CodeCoverage tools, Coverity, ARM RealView ICE, Bench Marking tools, Teams, Miro,
    • GitHub, GitLab, Azure, Cmake, Makefile, Docker, Kubernetes
    • Good knowledge on Linux (Driver, Kernel) and any RTOS preferably FreeRTOS.
    Soft skills:
    • Good team player, good communication and hunger for innovation.
