Senior Process Engineer

AS - IN - Pune

Job Description and Qualifications

  1. JOB PURPOSE:
To support all process engineering and systems engineering work in AP India
  1. DIMENSIONS :
In general the Indian Process and Systems resource will be focused on Indian projects but, they will act as an outreach of the Hersham (UK) team and can be used as additional labor for non - Indian projects if Hersham is short of resource or India is short of work. The projects will be any air separation plant or Hydrogen and CO plants globally.
  1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Process engineering support (70%)
  • Lead a project as Process lead for process engineering activities & process deliverables during Detail engineering phase; such as review & updation of PFD, review & updation of Heat & Material balance, Line sizing, PSV sizing, Control valve sizing, pump sizing, preparation of instrument datasheets, equipment datasheets, preparation of cause & effect diagram, hazardous vent schedule, operating manual etc.
  • Be a checker, approver for process deliverables on project.
  • Support departmental activities like establishing technical guidelines & procedure, training, recruitment etc.
  • Support Projects for process deliverables & its schedule, resource planning, progress monitoring & reporting.
  • Participate in Client s meeting, vendor meeting during project execution.
  • Participate in Bid support & client s meeting during proposal stage .
  • Participate in Hazop studies, safety studies & close out actions .
  • Support safety engineering activities .
  • Conduct Hazop session as facilitator will be added advantage.
  • Support Plant p erformance testing and start up
  • Support operation as may be required
  • Support Plant assessment study and plant trouble shooting support for after sales CPS team.
Process Systems / PID Management Support (30%)
  • Review & updation of P&IDs through various stages of projects
  • Ensure quality through rigorous checking
  • Assign & Monitor work of graphic team
  • Support global office for P&ID management
  • Coordinate with global offices for execution of international projects
  • Prepare Engineering Variation Notes (EVN) to facilitate un - interrupted work flow of downstream departments for ongoing changes through various stages of P&ID on project.
  • Support and contribute to AP s low cost sourcing activities.
  1. ASSIGNMENT AND REVIEW OF WORK
  • Work will be assigned and reviewed by Process Engineering Manager
  • The Process engineer will refer back to the Process engineering Manager on project specific issues, as well as data collection work, performance testing and plant commissioning.
  • The process engineer will adhere to all AP safety policies, appropriate engineering standards, engineering procedures and industry standards.
  1. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
  • An Engineering Degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering with minimum of 12 15 years experience in a relevant industry
  • Should have handled project as process lead
  • Should have hands - on experience on process engineering activities & deliverables
  • Should have hands on experience for process gas project. Exposure to ASU will be added advantage.
  • Start - up, commissioning or plant operating experience an advantage
  • Cryogenic Air Separation and flammable gas plant experience preferred
  • Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication skills
  • Must be familiar with an engineering organisation, the function of each discipline and how they interact and the function of the various support groups globally.
  • Experience of ASPEN software and associated modules is an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of plant layouts and model review meetings and software
  • Experience and knowledge to effectively communicate issues and ideas
  • Internationally mobile.
