Senior Project Engineering Manager

Job Description and Qualifications

Purpose Responsible for all Engineering activities on the project. DIMENSIONS Responsible for all Engineering activities on the project:

  • Defines Engineering Strategy.
  • Coordinates all Engineering work.
  • Identifies variations/scope changes.
  • Approves engineering changes.
  • Controls engineering budgets.
  • Responsible for engineering schedule.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • In - depth knowledge of all Engineering Functions and their key deliverables.
  • Full technical responsibility for all Engineering activities on the project.
  • Participates in bid development where necessary.
  • Assists in initial project planning activities with the Project Manager.
  • Provides Engineering and Design Strategy.
  • Defines Engineering org chart, staffing and roles.
  • Identifies variations/scope changes and Controls engineering budgets.
  • Assist Regional Engineering Director and Lead Engineers with project planning.
  • Reviews engineering and design progress and staffing throughout the project.
  • Ensures effective coordination between functions and Product Line.
  • Chairs lead engineer s meetings follows up actions and issues.
  • Contributes to solution of difficult problems.
  • Alerts PM on unforeseen variations and recommends mitigation measures.
  • Manages Engineering and Design Budget, schedule and quality.
  • Evaluates and approves engineering and design changes that impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project.
  • Assist in the development of construction packages.
  • Project reporting for engineering and design; Review / Improve work processes and as required drive continuous improvements.
  • Be connected with construction and start - up teams to sort out issues if any.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor s in engineering
  • In depth technical knowledge of detail engineering functions and design systems.
  • At least 20 years of experience in the EPC industry.
  • Demonstrated Leadership capabilities.
  • Full technical responsibility for all Engineering activities on the project:
  • Participates in bid development
  • Assists in initial project planning activities with the Project Manager.
  • Defines Engineering org chart, staffing and roles
  • Knowledge of Procurement activities
  • Knowledge of Construction estimation and construction activities
  • Site Experience will be added advantage.
