Job Description

Senior Software Consultant IVRWe are looking for an experienced IVR developer to help in maintaining our IVR infrastructure which consists of multiple 3rd party-based IVR systems. The candidate should have worked on IVR systems support and development and have AOD, Java, and web service skills.

  • Candidates will be required to maintain existing software applications/services by identifying and correcting software defects, implementing small change requests, and dealing with ticket requests in a timely manner. The candidate will also be expected to enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing an action plan, and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
  • Work with developers, peers, and architects to design new solutions or enhancements/changes to existing applications/tools
  • Researches and analyses operational needs, designs programming solutions, codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements, and supports.
  • The applicant must be able to demonstrate that they are self-motivated and can work well with other members of their team, as well as on their own.
  • Supports a program to reduce technical debt (through quality coding and defect resolution for outstanding defects)
  • Mentor and coach team members to ensure the team is working towards improving on development practices and technical deliveryPrimary Responsibilities:
    • Resolves requests for support against agreed priorities and timescales for CCMs IVR platforms
    • Follows CCM engineering practices to assist the delivery of successful technical projects within CCM
    • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on the incidents and problems being raised against the environment and ensure that the identified issue is fixed
    • Understand effectively the current IVR architecture and infrastructure
    • Escalate support issues appropriately and communicate proactively with the IT Service Operations management
    • Stay abreast with technical development and trends
    • Identify and take initiative to implement the improvements in the environmentAcademic:
      • Education to degree level (or higher) in relevant discipline
      • Proven IT experience in a commercial environment (6+ Years)
      • Experience in configuration and handling Avaya IVR (3+ years)
      • IVR/ASR Development experience using Voice XML and Grammars (GRXML)
      • VXML application using Avaya Orchestration designer (AOD)
      • Experience in at least 1 latest programming language like Java, .NET, etc.
      • HTML, JavaScript, JSP, XMLExperience:
      • 7 to 10 years of experience of maintaining and supporting IVR systems Avaya primarily
      • Proven experience developing software observing good practices (e.g. multi-tier)
      • Ensures that systems and applications are highly available and meet or exceed performance expectations, and require little to no support
      • Migration experience from Nortel to Avaya is good to have
      • Configuration of Avaya Session Manager (SM)
      • Configuration of Avaya System Manager (SMGR)
      • Configuration of Avaya Application Enablement Service (AES)
      • Ability to perform redundancy/Disaster Recovery Planning & execution
      • Excellent Problem solving
        • Experience of Avaya Experience Portal or Avaya MPS 500 & MPS 1000
        • Exposure to Avaya ACD CM6
