Find out more about what it is like to work in Red Hat QE directly from our engineers in this video .Team & Role Description:The Red Hat Fuse Quality Engineering Team is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join us remotely in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Czech Republic or onsite in our office (Berlin, Brno). In this role, you will work on Red Hat s Fuse Integration products and services with the related technologies, including Java, Camel, Quarkus, Dockers and various integration testing frameworks. The key responsibilities include developing new automated tests for performance, APIs, GUIs and usability testing. Youll also search for, analyze, report, track defects, and verify bug fixes. As a Senior Software Quality Engineer, you will have the chance to work with some of the brightest engineers in the open source industry while acting as an internal advocate for our customers. Well need you to have excellent technical and creative thinking skills, as youll be encouraged to develop innovative solutions to technical issues on a daily basis. You will collaborate in international teams to improve free and open source software. Primary job responsibilities

• Implement test scenarios and develop enterprise applications used for testing
• Design and develop testing frameworks in Java for various environments, like cloud, multiple operating systems, large clusters, and containers
• Provide root cause analysis for complex bugs reported by our customers and communicate the impact of these bugs to customers, developers, and support specialists
• Lead small team, prepare status reports, tech mentoring of junior team members
• Participate in defining testing strategies & the continuous improvement and optimization of the test automation model
• Analyze and prioritize the quality risks posed by Red Hat products and determine the tests required to mitigate these risks
• Serve as an internal advocate for our customers to ensure that the product goes to customers without usability or user experience issues; properly document relevant information
• Document new bugs and work with project managers and developers on prioritization and a fix
• Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologiesers

Required skills

• Experience with Java and JEE
• Knowledge of the build systems (Maven, Ant) and version control systems (SVN, Git)
• Experience with continuous integration
• Deeper knowledge of JVM and garbage collection mechanism is an advantage
• Experience with high availability, load balancing and clustering are benefits
• English communication skills and ability to read technical documentation

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with following technology is a big plus: Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift, Gradle or Groovy
