*Cienas Blue Planet division is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop extended capabilities of our leading automation platform for telecommunication service providers. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with Blue Planets Intelligent Automation Solution by extending SW capabilities through our orchestrator and inventory solutions using the platforms APIs and SDK. You will be a selfstarter who takes ownership of any issues, works well independently and in teams, manages their time and meets the delivery schedule with quality. Your role will require you understand the customer requirements while working onsite or remotely as needed and collaborating with our distributed team to meet the delivery schedules. Role & Responsibilities You will work within an Agile development environment with our professional services team to develop & deliver SW components as directed by the Architect or Delivery Manager. Develop software container based microservices, libraries, and features for Resource Adapters (RAs), Service templates and data model updates (ToscaNetconfYang) in the telco transport domain including internal testing and validation as required. Train and educate yourself on new technologies, Blue Planet products, and new releases. Participate and support customer discussions to understand requirements, clarifications for implementation and conduct user acceptance. Required Skills Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related technical field Customer facing experience including working with customers and third parties for discovery and design Experience distilling requirements into an actionable design document Experience leading development teams Experience with and technical knowledge of Transport Networks, DWDM, OTN, SONETSDH, Ethernet. Strong software language skills in Python, or similar (6 years experience) Strong understanding of Linux (UbuntuRHEL), Cloud environment (e.g. AWS, OpenStack, etc.) Develop services delivered as Docker or other virtualized containers, Rest API, Microservices architecture in a DevOps based software development cycle. Desired Experience Exposure to Network Automation, OSS Fulfilment stack, Path Computation and Network Topology. Exposure with network modelling following TPEFRE, TMF, or TAPI Data and service modelling using TOSCA, JSON Schema, Swagger, YANG. Exposure to distributed high throughput messaging system such as Apache Kafka Exposure to Database programming with relational and nonrelationalgraph systems such as Postgres and Neo4j,
