  • Work with the rest of the team in developing product features that get delivered to 2B+ monthly active users.
  • Identify key areas of debt in the code to improve code maintainability, architecture and establish industry standard design patterns.
  • Contribute to developing and enriching the end-to-end automation suite that drives our regression testing efforts.
  • Develop tooling and scripts which automate frequently occurring tasks to help increase dev productivity.
  • Work on plugins for Helpshifts products for Gaming engines like Unity and Unreal Engine.
  • Understand, measure, evaluate and improve the SDK and Native App performance taking into account of API, OS, Network and synchronisation requirements of our Product.
  • Work with key stakeholders from Product and Design teams to execute POCs for new product improvements.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to constantly keep learning and improving your skills.
  • Display strong work ethic and ownership.
  • Write and review code.
About You:
  • Over 4+ years experience working with Application development in the Android ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of Posix compliant Operating Systems - we develop on Mac OS X.
  • Strong knowledge of Android platform internals and Java.
  • Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals: Data structures, Time complexity of algorithms, Threading concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural patterns and able to come up with high-level designs for features.
  • Must be able to contribute towards building test specifications of features and look through solution gaps.
  • Knowledge of Android build tools systems.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about the platform. Should act as an ambassador for the company and team at developer events.
  • Good communication skills, able to engage and explain technical topics to peers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of a distributed version control tool is a plus - we use Git.
Nice to have:
  • Experience in writing Android libraries and/or open source contributions.
  • Good knowledge of Kotlin.
  • Knowledge of UI automation frameworks such as Espresso and UIAutomator.
  • Good understanding of ReactJS and Redux.
  • Familiarity with build tools like Webpack, Babel, and Gulp.
