Joining the core services teams entails working on cross platform projects including a WebSockets platform, Unified Logging platform, Distributed job executor to name a few. The team also owns enabling other engineering teams in terms of developer productivity, tooling, and libraries. You will be building and owning these platforms/tooling/libraries to help engineering teams. This team also owns the Core Public API s for Helpshift and Integrations with various 3rd party systems.What will you do

    • Work on the Resiliency, Availability and Latency of our Core Platform/Services
    • Work closely with the Dev Ops team to ensure our infrastructure is performing optimally and constantly looking to improve performance on our infrastructure.
    • Work on improving developer tooling and productivity, having an impact on all engineering activities in the org
    • Own and publish API s (internal and external) for the Helpshift ecosystem and enable 3rd part integrations
    • Write clean code with proper test coverage.
    • Research and introduce new pieces of infrastructure and software as and when the need arises.

  • 4-6 years of medium / large scale server-side software development experience.
  • Production Experience of Java or Python
  • Thorough knowledge of CS fundamentals: Data structures, the time complexity of algorithms.
  • Knowledge of Posix compliant Operating Systems (we develop on Mac OS X and deploy on GNU/Linux).
  • Comfortable using CLI tools for achieving day-to-day tasks.
  • Experience in working with a distributed version control tool. (We use Git)
  • Experience in writing Unit, Functional & Regression tests.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Display strong work ethics. Be a team player with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration.
  • Keep calm and learn every day.
  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of functional programming is a plus (We use Clojure)
  • Knowledge of the JVM is a plus.
  • Experience in working with any one of MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or Postgresql at scale is good to have.
  • Experience with benchmarking systems for performance, failure detection is good to have.
