The Platform Engineering team is responsible for platform services including the development, testing, deployment and operation of software. In addition, the function will manage the platform onboarding and developer experience.Roche s single vision is to improve the lives of patients, and the RDS Platform team is dedicated to using the latest cloud software technologies as a means to deliver this vision. If you would rather improve health outcomes for millions instead of helping sell ads on the Internet, this is the job for you!Job FactsThis role and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the remit of the team as it evolves. Technical design and development of large core product architectural and functional components. Own and run technology functional components and proof of concepts for Java platform, Spring, HIbernate, storage, system integration, reporting, analytics, big data, etc. Collaborate with software architect on application deployment architecture and sizing for best product stability, performance, security, reliability, and supportability on cloud Collaborate with QA on functional, performance, and security testing Lead and resolve critical customer escalations on architectural and technical issues Train and mentor engineers Work closely with application development, architecture, and infrastructure application analysis initiatives to define success criteriaResponsibilities:

• 5 years of software development experience in development
• Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Java, SQL, Spring 4.x, Hibernate, Rabbit MQ, REST, Tomcat technologies
• Experience with designing multi-tenant enterprise SaaS application using MVC, SOA, REST architecture
• Master-level experience and in-depth knowledge of Java platform with any one or more of: Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, Websphere application servers
• Experience and knowledge of developing enterprise applications with i18n, l10n, and accessibility support
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup-like environment
• Ability to work with globally distributed and multi-cultural teams.
• Proven track record of troubleshooting and fixing performance, scalability, and reliability issues (memory issues, multi-threading, CPU spikes, virtualization, etc.) in Linux/Unix or Windows environment
• Experience and knowledge of secure coding best practices (such as OWASP)
• Strong knowledge of enterprise application architecture and technologies, including databases, web, web services, and reporting
• Strong comprehension, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, quick learner, and good troubleshooting capabilities
• Strong understanding Agile/Waterfall model

Who You Are

• BS degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline (CS, Eng, etc.)
• 4 years experience as a quality or test engineer
• Proven track-record testing large scale, enterprise (SaaS) applications with complex data models and workflows
• Hands-on software development experience in either Java or C/C# with expertise in at least one
• Hands-on experience with multiple test tools - Selenium, JUnit, etc.
• Experience in healthcare is not required, but familiarity with healthcare data and workflows is a plus (e.g. HL7, IHE)
