Job Description

Job Summary You will be associated with a progressive organization in the area of Information Technology specializing in the Telecom/ Datacom domain, as member of the Service & Support Team. The Team has the focus to secure robust and high-quality operations and delivery of Tata Communications core network, voice and data service releases. Our carrier grade core network exists of HLR/HSS, IN, DRA s, STP s, SBC s, GGSN, OCS, routers, switches, firewalls, voicemail and network management systems. It has interconnects with various national and international voice, GPRS and signaling operators and MVNO s. The Telco IP Core Engineer s role is to maintain, design and implement IP solutions within an agile DevOps team of professionals whilst maintaining a high level of customer support. Responsibilities Provide support, maintain and implement all core IP related services. Key involvement in the integration of the IP network infrastructure. Member of an agile multi-disciplinary team that iteratively delivers core network functionality to the customer and stakeholders based upon committed backlog items. Actively contribute to continuous improvement of the team. Generation of documentation for network changes and work procedures. Delivery of new customer deployments, where appropriate. Liaise with 3rd party suppliers for service creation and fault resolution. Responsible for knowledge transfer to other team members and assisting with personal development. Interact with clients to resolve any issues before, during, or after development or service engagements. Provide pre-sales and post-sales support. Provide training when appropriate to ensure our service offerings are properly communicated to stakeholders, prospects and clients. Provide continued input to management regarding new ideas and concepts to improve overall quality of service to our stakeholders, clients and partners. Daily check operations: network alarms and system log checks. Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines and to complete client implementations or services work. Requirement Experience working in Telecommunication/Datacom domain is a must. A college diploma or university degree in a relevant field and 3+ years related work experience. Broad experience with Cisco IOS (at least CCNA level, preferably CCNP certified). Extensive real business experience with IP networks (switching/routing/security). An understanding of networking and applications (TCP/IP protocol stack, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), VPN s, IPsec, GRE, VOIP, DNS, HTTP, etc.) and knowledge of routers, firewalls, switches and LAN environments. Experience with or understanding end to end Signalling (SS7 Stack), Voice (SIP protocol), SMS (SMPP and MAP protocol) and data (3G/4G GTP protocol) call flows would be a plus. Profound experience in a relevant 2nd and/or 3rd line support environment. Very good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Hands-on experience in product development and interoperability. Good listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Experience working in an agile team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to produce technical documentation including test plans. A hands-on mentality; you take initiative and are eager to learn. No problem with participating in an 24x7 on call duty rooster (on call for support for major incidents in the evening, night and weekend).,
