Job Description

• This role will focus on automation, standardization and Security of Linux, Windows and VMWare Operating Systems, to deliver a secure and modern infrastructure service platform. Someone who wants to be a contributor and grow in a consistently evolving environment will have many interesting challenging problems to be part of. He/she also maintains tools, infrastructure and/or works with other teams with the main purpose to security NTRS Platform Environment .
• Manage the Linux , Windows and VMware Operation & Engineering Teams in Pune
• Implement security best practices across the infrastructure.
• Ensure Operating Systems are following Northern Trust Standards
• Mentor staff to grow as Site Reliability Engineers.
• Set security direction and road map for Northern Trust Distributed Platform Environments
• Be responsible for the overall heath, availability, and security of Northern Trust Operating Systems
• Develop security tools and process.
• Code and script solid understanding of computer programming and software development to convert existing support to more automated support.
• Participate in development of Private Cloud Security Services and Practices
• Review the e cacy of existing security tools and systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further widening the deployment of these systems.
• Research what open source technologies are available that can be applied as part of our toolset.
• Contribute to designing and deploying of security architectures that support a cloud- forward and IaaS/PaaS approach.
• Research and implement technology solutions for a reliable, high performance, high transaction system.
• Work with peers to manage and improve existing server infrastructure to enable infrastructure continuous deployment and a self-service approach.

Qualifications (Required)

• A minimum 5 years managing Infrastructure Engineering teams and Architects
• Strong understanding of security principles and track record implementing security frameworks.
• Experience in managing a large, multi-level organization (e.g. has managed other managers)
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Experience in ITIL processes, with practical knowledge of Change, Incident and Problem management and CMDB processes.
• Experience in Infrastructure automation for provisioning and day 2 operations including tooling, config management using modern frameworks (eg. vRealize, Ansible, etc.).
• Experience in supporting a 24x7 Global production environment
• Experience in deploying and managing resilient, highly-available and rapidly recoverable systems
• Experience in a regulated industry or equivalent industry with sensitive customer or PII data
• Strong background in distributed technology Security
• Experience with a variety of open source technologies and cloud services.

Nice to have

• Experience in a Systems Engineering role with a focus in automation and tooling.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
• Knowledge of software design and architecture principles.
• Experience supporting a production platform for thousands of users
• Experience in automation and integration development in Converged Infrastructure Solutions, Cloud Computing and Virtualization.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (eg. Git).
• Experience automating tasks for internal or external applications.
• Experience in setting up and managing private cloud technologies (eg. PCF, Docker).
• A solid understanding of cloud based architectures and concepts.
• Experience automating tasks for internal or external applications.

• Prior network/system administration experience.
• Secure code/process development methodology
• Knowledge in object-oriented programming design and development.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience implementing Continuous Integration/Delivery for applications and infrastructure.
