System Administrator - WindowsPosting Location : Location IN-PunePosting date 22 hours ago(8/23/2021 8:22 AM)Job ID 82871 Workday ID R-005971 Job summary The Red Hat IT team is looking for a System Administrator to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will focus on Windows systems and be responsible for effective provisioning, installation and configuration, operation, and maintenance of windows systems and servers. You ll ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. You ll assist project teams with technical issues in the installation and planning phases of IT standard processes and methodology. As a System Administrator, you ll be accountable for Windows systems in IT infrastructure and Windows and applications systems. You ll be responsible for these systems, including their provisioning, operations and support, maintenance, and research and development to ensure service availability and uptime of Windows environments. Primary job responsibilities

  • Be responsible for system administration,, operations, and support and maintenance of Windows systems and servers
  • Install new and rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with Red Hat standards and operational requirements
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary
  • Limited user account management and troubleshooting issues related to account management delegated rights
  • Provide Tier 2-3 and other support per request from various constituencies; investigate and troubleshoot issues
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures; coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities; configure and add new services as necessary
  • Upgrade and configure system software
  • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, and resource optimization as required
  • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
  • Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
  • Manage Windows File Shares in a distributed file system (DFS) environment utilizing DFSR replication with multiple regional file servers
Required skills
  • Bachelor degree in a technical major like engineering or computer science
  • MCSA or MCSE certification in current Microsoft operating systems
  • 4+ years of system administration experience; deep understanding of Windows OS
  • Experience supporting production applications and knowledge of change management principles
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of web servers, clients and browsers, LDAP, Active Directory
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment where collaboration is required, including working with remote colleagues
  • Ability to self-direct, prioritizing tasks efficiently, based on criticality
  • Desire and motivation to learn and deploy new technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and complex problem solving skills
  • Experience with Terminal Services platforms, and familiarity with roaming profiles and folder redirection as implemented in support of the same
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is a plus
