Job Description

- Process improvement:

  • Perform routine engineering analyses including but not limited to the following: data extraction and statistical analyses to improve warehouse operations efficiencies and effectiveness in activities like work planning/scheduling/release
  • Develop action plan(s) to improve efficiencies and/or workforce utilization by analyzing reports generated through Labor management system and daily/monthly operational metrics reporting
  • Remotely assist senior operations engineers on/prior to branch visits through analyzing reports and developing branch specific insights and possible solutions
  • Develop effective presentations to clearly communicate results of key savings projects

- Data Analysis :

  • Analyze inventory and velocity data to improve warehouse efficiencies and metrics including travel time per line by improved product slotting
  • Assist in identifying refining metrics and benchmarks for warehouse processes
  • Develop and test hypothesis using statistical software to improve flow and reducing bottlenecks in warehouses with complex material handling systems
  • Assist in development, improvement, and implementation of new tools, methodologies, processes, and reports to turn data into usable information.
  • Document Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Best practices for warehouse personnel
  • Recommend, develop, create and implement ad hoc reports using SQL, MS Excel, Word, Project, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint as business requires or assigned by manager

- Project Work

  • Assist project engineers in facilities projects (new building openings/ re- configuration projects) in warehouse management and labor management system set ups
  • Work with BI analysts and Systems analysts to design new reporting, dashboarding and systems solutions for warehouse operations

- Support Work

  • Assist operations engineers in regular maintenance of Labor Management System (LMS)
  • Improve warehouse metrics like travel time per line through monthly product slotting and velocity updates
  • Work with the IS teams for designing and Testing LMS and other system enhancements

- Additional requirements

  • Communicate clearly and professionally and work productively with all levels of Medline employees.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Work with manager to proactively seek opportunities to improve skills and knowledge through training opportunities.
Skills / Experience required:
  • Educational qualifications in- Mechanical / Manufacturing / Production / Industrial Engineering or Statistics or Business/ Operations Management
  • At least 2 - 3 years of Analyst work experience, preferably in SCM, Logistics or Warehousing domains
  • Experience in providing Analyst support from offsite/ offshore location
  • Proven data analysis skills in a relational DBMS (preferably Oracle or SQL Server).
  • Strong skillsets and experience in Statistical Data Analysis, Data visualization techniques and problem solving skills.
  • Good organization, analysis, and planning skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral
  • Three years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of statistical software (R, Minitab) or data visualization software (Webfocus) will be considered a plus
  • Certifications in SCM/ Logistics domain
  • Experience in Systems design and development from functional perspective
  • Proficient with Microsoft Access and Visio
  • Work experience with Global teams in an Onsite: Off shore model
