Job Description

Fiserv is looking for Middleware Engineer who will join Middleware and Apps distributed team within our Production Operations and Project team. This role will make a major contribution to IT Operations success by implementing and building the platform for the applications across varying technology stack, using Fiserv s approved standard applications and set of monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics etc. The role involves Lead, design, develop and implement solutions in a complex environments consisting of various technologies, using a wide range of Middleware technologies such WebSphere , Apache , Wildfly ,JBoss, IIS including HA capabilities and DR setup . It requires working in Distributed Computing Platform team providing infrastructure and application support to various business lines and works with staff to troubleshoot and problem-solve middleware application issues.The role will primarily involve building, deployment and support the Access Plus .Falcon and Omni Pay platform, automating middleware and Apps distributed and enhancing the client on boarding experience and look for opportunities to introduce further automation.As a technical expert, work closely with Technical leads, Developers, Product owners, Testing teams and Operation teams to build and implement end-to-end application functionalities.There must be an intense focus on improving systems availability and resilience through, High Availability solutions, standardization and automation. Python/Bash/PowerShell scripts should be developed, integrated, and deployed to on-board clients to the platform to provide automation solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will have at least 10 years relevant experience and display a proficiency in many of the following:

  • Responsibilities include installing, configuring, administering and supporting medium to large J2EE deployments including but not limited to Apache web server WebSphere , JBoss and IBM WebSphere, WebLogic spanning multiple versions including HA
  • Excellent Knowledge on JBoss, WebLogic, Wildfly, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, IIS
  • Excellent knowledge of Java Based Application Servers
  • Prepare technical documents as and when required
  • Participate in transaction middleware automation activities and take lead to identify the opportunities to automate BAU and project task
  • Understands business and application requirements to make design decisions that result in stable systems that meet operational and data security standards
  • Provide technical implementation expertise and support to development teams and assist in the maintenance and tuning of a complex Middleware /WebSphere environment
  • Perform activities in rotational shifts
  • Provide - on call- support in case of high severity issue 24/7
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, a related technical or scientific field, or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications.
  • 6+ years of implementing monitoring and performance engineering experience.
  • 6+ years of scripting or software development experience.
  • 6+ years of experience with large-scale financial systems architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience in using Splunk, AppDynamics, or equivalent monitoring tools.
  • 5+ years demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast paced, cross functional team environment.
Certifications
  • Certification is Websphere, Splunk 7.x Power User Certification.
  • Splunk Admin and Architect certification is optional.
