Agile Project Manager - Enterprise Data And AnalyticsPosting Location : Location Remote US NCPosting date 4 days ago(1/5/2021 6:11 AM)Job ID 82817 Job summary The Red Hat Enterprise Data and Analytics team is looking for an Agile Project Manager to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will manage the successful realization of several data and analytics projects. You will plan, lead, and organize projects to achieve a high level of performance and quality. You ll be responsible for managing several concurrent projects, using agile methods in a fast paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions. As an Agile Project Manager, you will use a hybrid agile approach, good judgment, and high-level skills to develop a project management approach that is suitable for planning and managing the effort to achieve project goals within designated project constraints. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Primary job responsibilities

  • Define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports, manage risks and issues, correct deviations from plans, and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
  • Assist in team development and work balance while holding teams accountable for their commitments, remove obstacles to their work, and make use of organizational resources to improve capacity for project work
  • Support the product owner in managing stakeholder expectations for project deliverables, manage stakeholder communications, and help implement an effective system of project governance
  • Define and manage a well-defined project management process and support the ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for agile project management
  • Promote empowerment of the team by ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the project and is making a meaningful contribution
  • Encourage a sustainable pace for the team
Required skills
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models and expert knowledge of both agile and traditional project management principles and practices; ability to blend these together to fit a project and business environment
  • 5+ years of experience working as a project manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multifunctional teams
  • Prior experience with scrum or agile methodologies used in enterprise-level data governance, data warehousing, or business intelligence (BI) projects
  • Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including mentoring, coaching, collaboration, and team building
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain stakeholder trust and confidence
  • Proven ability to manage software development projects and ensure that objectives, goals, and commitments are met
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interacting with both business and IT associates at all levels, including the executive level
  • Creative approach to problem-solving; ability to focus on details while maintaining the big picture view
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science or a similar field
The following are considered a plus:
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Agile Certified Practitioner certification, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification, or equivalent certifications
  • Master data management or ETL tooling experience
  • Experience working within a data governance organization
