Job Description

As a Consulting Engineer , VoIP Fraud you will reside on - site at the customer s location performing daily data center operations based activities at one of Sandvine s key accounts . You ll use your excellent attention to detail and investigative skills to monitor , identify and lead to resolution potential issues on a high availability production environment. Issues that are outside of your knowledge domain will be escalated to Sandvine s customer support for further investigation while you play a key role in communicating status updates to the customer and scheduling further investigation activities as require until resolution. The Job Daily monitoring / testing of critical Apps , system health , logs , alarms with a sense of urgency when issues arise Analyze & troubleshoot critical Applications traffic and detect problems through the use of essential software tools (traffic sniffers , simulators , traffic detection , MRTG , PRTG , SNMP polling , logs) Work on deployed solutions to identify Grey VoIP / VoIP Apps traffic Design and develop new solutions for identifying / monitoring VoIP Apps / grey VoIP traffic Lead the analysis / discussion with other departments in order to solve and prevent issues Accountability for Case management and ensuring that they are resolved Establish relationship with technical team to facilitate design and development of new applications for monitoring network performance and operations Maintain documentation for projects with Sandvine to keep the documentation up to date Assist with communication , consultation , coordination , escalation , and leadership to address cases with Sandvine Customer Support Act as the liaison and advocate between customer operations personnel and Sandvine customer support , including the Account Management team and engineering staff Provide knowledge transfer to customer What Skills You Bring Minimum of 5 year experience in a technical role. Degree or diploma from a technical institute (IT or Computer Science) Commanding knowledge of Unix based operating systems such as Linux , FreeBSD etc Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Java , C / C++ , python , Perl etc Excellent background of packet level debugging using Wireshark , tcpdump , tcpreplay or similar tools Exposure to and understanding of web application concepts like P2P , VoIP , WAP , MMS , RTSP Excellent technical background with a strong understanding of networking (specifically IP related technologies) Excellent understanding of end - to - end network call flows , as well as relevant technologies & protocols (DHCP , RADIUS , DIAMETER , GRE , SIP , RTP , MGCP , H.323 , RTCP) Good experience in Data communication industry with different operator networks for Wireline (Cable , DSL , FTTH) and / or Wireless (Satellite , Wi - Fi , LTE , GPRS - 3G , CDMA - 3G , WiMAX , GSM , UMTS) Experience with SQL databases , network traffic monitoring , or firewall technologies especially in a Telecom , ISP , or Cable Internet environment a valuable asset Ability to manage challenges and set priorities in a complex environment Additional Assets: Hands - on experience with the installation , configuration , and / or operation of network equipment such as Cisco , Juniper or other network hardware manufacturers Experience with web technologies (Javascript , HTML5 , HTTP , etc.) Knowledge in virtualization technologies (VMware , KVM) , deployment of Openstack Understanding of NFV particularly around MANO / ONAMP Good understanding of billing and charging concepts and experience with Online Charging and Policy Enforcement (OCS , PCRF , PCEF) Knowledge of industry models and best practices (eg.
