Job Description

    Instrumentation & Controls EngineerJob DescriptionInstrumentation & controls engineer provides electrical review for all new, existing, and revamped equipment and facilities to ensure consistency with applicable design standards such as API, NEC, ISA, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA, etc.Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Skills
    • Support P&ID development
    • Thorough understanding of the different types of instrumentation, control systems and/or electrical equipment
    • Thorough understanding of how Process, Mechanical and other discipline data is obtained and used to specify E&I instrumentation/equipment
    • Thorough understanding of how instrument and/or electrical equipment specifications are developed- content, assembly, checking, issued to project, etc
    • Thorough understanding of how E&I requisition packages are developed - content, assembly, checking, issued to project, etc
    • Clear understanding of E&I design deliverables/tools
    • Instrumentation & Controls Engineer Responsibilities
      • You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical controls engineering issues
      • In this role the person will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning
      • Lead effort for development of Electrical, I&C design packages
      • Assist in P&ID development
      • Develop MCC One Lines and Electrical Schematics
      • Develop and maintain instrument index
      • Develop and apply instrument installation details
      • Interface with client and SSOE team to coordinate design activities
      • Develop / Coordinate the Development of PLC and HMI Software
      • Perform programming and programming changes to PLC based controls systems
