Job Description

    Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Insurance Claim Manager to oversee the administration of all insurance claims and manage related queries. This position requires strong communication skills, negotiation abilities, and in-depth knowledge of insurance practice and law. The Insurance Claim Manager will be responsible for dealing with insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, claimants, and senior management while ensuring smooth claim settlements, risk analysis, and ongoing support for the organizations insurance processes.Key Responsibilities:Claims Administration:Oversee the administration of all insurance claims, including material loss claims such as theft, major fires, and fidelity guarantees.Handle all associated queries from insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors, brokers, claimants, and relevant departments.Deal with distressed or aggrieved claimants both face-to-face and over the phone, managing contentious issues and generating necessary correspondence.Negotiation and Settlement:Negotiate settlements for all insurance claims, referring to the Insurance Manager and Assistant Director - Treasury Services as needed.Ensure timely and appropriate settlement of claims.Claims and Loss Recording:Maintain and update the computerized claims/loss recording system.Develop detailed data for proper risk analysis.Professional Advice and Reporting:Provide professional advice on insurance practices, law, and policies to senior management and relevant departments.Prepare reports and advice notes as required.Industry Knowledge and Updates:Attend insurance-related meetings and seminars with the Insurance Manager to stay updated on industry trends, particularly those affecting the organization.Alert senior management to developments in the insurance sector.Risk Management Development:Assist in the development of the organizations risk management process.Promote awareness of the importance of risk management through active participation in relevant working groups and projects.Training and Briefing:Conduct training and briefing sessions for staff at all levels regarding insurance practices, risk management, and claims procedures.Claims Procedures Review:Regularly review claims procedures with insurers and brokers to ensure alignment with best practices.Recovery and Performance Reporting:Effectively pursue recoveries against third parties related to claims.Provide agreed quarterly performance measures to the Assistant Director - Treasury Services/ Director of Finance.Qualifications and Skills:Education:Bachelors or Masters degree in any relevant field.Experience:Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in managing insurance claims, preferably in an organizational setting.Key Skills:Strong negotiation and communication skills.In-depth knowledge of insurance claims processing and settlement.Experience in dealing with insurers, brokers, and third-party representatives.Ability to provide professional advice and detailed reports.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Proficiency in using insurance management software and claims recording systems.
