Job Description

Cargill Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (CSSP) is a global organization that strives to strategically source and leverage Cargill s indirect spend; this indirect spend spans Plant Materials and Services (MRO, Capital, Plant Services, etc); Corporate Material and Services (travel, IT, HR, etc); Chemicals, Energy; Packaging; and Ingredients. The CSSP team is responsible for managing over 9 billion in spend. This position will provide on-going, advanced and forward-looking market intelligence (MI) for the specific global category assigned. The successful candidate will possess robust analytical capabilities that support global category management teams, in developing and executing sophisticated category strategies. Key accountabilities for this position will be researching data, market information, and trends, performing data analysis and interpretation, and informing and driving strategies and best practice sharing. Market Specialists will specialize by Category(s) (e.g., MRO) and / or by Region (e.g., LatAm, APAC). This positions reports to Global Equipment Category Leader and is based in India. Principal Accountabilities:Research Data, Market Information and Trends - 65%

  • Has expertise in Level 2 Category and / or Region under purview (Level 2 Category is PM&S Equipment covering all the regions)
  • Conducts research on specific Level 2 Category / Region, using internal and external, traditional data sources and non-traditional/non-structured data sources
  • Proactively seeks out and forwards relevant external research to category leads and business stakeholders
  • Identifies and tracks trends impacting sourcing strategies for Level 2 Category / Region under purview, such as high impact / risk commodities / categories, that adversely impact Cargill s position
Perform Data Analysis & Interpretation - 25%
  • Serves as subject matter advisor for Level 2 Category / Region under purview, providing category management team with relevant insights and analysis such as cost modelling, TCO Model and spend forecasting
  • Conducts complex analysis requiring deep understanding of market drivers for Level 2 Category / Region under purview
  • Draws conclusions and presents analysis including bid analysis findings to regional and / or global category leads and business stakeholders
Inform and Drive Strategies, Best Practices - 10%
  • Supports category communication and knowledge transfer efforts
  • Plans, prioritizes, and executes projects to enhance organizational capabilities related to the category
  • Works with global category leads and sourcing analyst network to implement best practices within businesses globally
  • Provides negotiation support and pricing advisory support to category teams
, Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Analytics or related field Strong financial, mathematical, modeling and analytical skills Proven ability to conduct rigorous economic, process, financial, and risk analysis to provide insights to guide sourcing decisions Ability to effectively communicate analytical findings/recommendations/models, both verbally and in written form to senior management in a professional, concise, and direct manner Ability to research and identify problems, develop proposals, conduct analysis independently and in collaborative with others Ability to understand core business goals and identify solutions to help advance Ability to manage numerous competing priorities Demonstrated team and collaboration skills, as well as influencing skills Ability to translate business questions and problems into actionable insights via data extraction and analysis. Demonstrates strong proficiency in various analytical techniques and tools (e.g., multivariate statistical techniques, analytical models) Proven ability to use visualization software (Power BI, etc.) to develop dashboards to structure and simplify complex scenarios and explain business scenarios to key CSSP and business stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: Certificate or advanced education in analytics, economics or statistics Ability to provide thought leadership for selected category, and proactively educates senior leaders / stakeholders on business implications of significant long-term trends (i.e., market drivers, regulatory and technology trends, etc.) that guide sourcing strategies. Ensures effective utilization of internal / external data and market intelligence resources, integrating critical information and using as an input to drive strategy shifts at the broader business level
