Job Description

  • To receive patient with a smile.
  • To know if the patient has fixed up appointment or not
  • In case of any deviation in the appointment timings for the appointment patient the message should be conveyed.
  • To request for medical records of the patient and ensure that the patient consults the doctor only with the record.
  • For patient without appointment the appointment should be provided as per the availability.
  • For review patient, file the case sheets before patient enters the doctor s room.
  • In case of referral patient to ensure that the patient comes with a referral letter.
  • To act as a good communicator between the doctor and the patient.
  • To collect doctor s fees and hand over the correct amount.
  • To inform doctors regarding any admission or reference of in-patient.
  • To coordinate for appointment with the investigation areas.
  • To get reply for any queries of the patient from the doctor and mail or fax it back.
  • To check for UHID stickers for all the patients undergoing the care process.
  • To check whether the admission slips are filled properly.
  • To type various certificate, letters etc.
  • To provide education to the Patient as needed
  • To check and provide the medical file to the admission counter when the patient gets admitted
  • In case patient request Change of Consultant form to be filled and HOD/Executive signature to be taken.
  • Inpatient references to be informed to the respective consultant
  • To attend telephone calls politely, adhere to the telephone manners and fix appointments over phone/person/letter/email.
  • To inform the respective departments about doctors absence and the covering doctors details.
  • Receive and get reply for fax from the doctors promptly, fill the appropriate form and fax the same.
  • To ensure that a credit bill is raised for all credit patients at the OP cash counter for doctor fees.
  • To dispatch the lab reports.
  • To collect feedback forms from all the OP patients.
  • To participate and contribute to departmental quality initiatives.
  • To be aware of departments performance and objective.
  • To carryout data collection/support in data collection.
  • To adhere to the safety norms of hospital, follow both patient, and staff safety rules.
  • To ensure all the employees are trained/oriented about the quality systems of the department.
  • To perform any work/job as and when assigned by the superior.
