Job Description

    Job Title: Engineer / Senior EngineerDepartment: Press Shop - Production / ManufacturingExperience: 6 to 9 yearsQualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering / related fieldIndustry Preferred: Sheet Metal IndustryKey Responsibilities:
    • Plan and execute daily production schedules for the press shop.
    • Operate and monitor mechanical & hydraulic power presses (up to 250T or as per plant setup).
    • Ensure component production meets quality standards, and take corrective actions for any deviations.
    • Supervise tool changeovers, die setting, and perform troubleshooting during production.
    • Coordinate with tool maintenance, quality, and stores departments to ensure smooth production flow.
    • Optimize material utilization, reduce scrap and rework.
    • Ensure adherence to production timelines and delivery commitments.
    • Monitor and maintain 5S, TPM, and safety protocols in the shop floor.
    • Prepare daily production reports and downtime analysis.
    • Train and guide shop floor operators and junior engineers.
    • Participate in process improvements, cost reduction, and cycle time optimization initiatives.
    Key Skills & Competencies:
    • Deep knowledge of press shop operations, sheet metal processes, and tool/die handling
    • Experience in progressive/compound die operations
    • Ability to read technical drawings and engineering specifications
    • Familiarity with quality tools (7QC, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, etc.)
    • Basic knowledge of welding, trimming, and forming operations (preferred)
    • Proficient in production planning, manpower handling, and shop floor management
    • Working knowledge of MS Office / ERP systems / SAP (preferred)
