Job Description

The Software Design Engineer will develop and maintain Software for new and existing Qualitrol products.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Development of new functions & features as per requirements.
  • Testing, Diagnostic and maintenance (bug fixing).
  • Lead SW development efforts and instill coding best practices in the team
  • Support & Drive architectural decisions for SW design.
  • Drive and own Version management and traceability.
  • Co-Ordination of development with firmware software.
  • Participate in software development and testing improvement.
  • Use Agile Scrum Methodology for software development.
  • Develop unit tests for all new code, adequately comment all code
  • Facilitate and participate in software design and peer code review
, Qualifications:Essential:
  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or Equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skill set, include good technical communication.
  • Minimum 8 years of proven record of software development for windows based applications
  • Deep understanding of C#/.NET, 6+ Years of experience
  • Minimum 3 Years of working experience of WPF with MVVM
  • Exposure to software design based on Client Server architecture.
  • Understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Working Experience with OOPS, Multi-Threading app, Message driven architecture, XML, CSV
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, ability to use network sniffer to test and debug communication.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills for root cause determination and fixing issues.
  • Flexible towards changes in priorities, sense of urgency and focus on results.
  • Experience in designing user interface
Desired:
  • Working experience with C++ - will be additional advantage
  • Exposure to Git, VC++
  • Exposure to Winform,
  • Experience working with Database creating database design, stored procedures.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies
  • Understanding and exposure to industrial communication protocols like IEC 61850, DNP 3.0, MODBUS etc.
  • Knowledge of the power transmission, distribution, and SCADA systems is a big plus
  • Working experience of Win services / WCF - 6 months minimum
