Automation Engineer (UiPath/Python/GenAI) - Director Software Engineering

Job Description

As an Automation Engineer (UiPath/Python/GenAI) at Morgan Stanley, you will be a part of the Enterprise Technology team in Enterprise Network Services. Your role will involve working with UiPath and Python to build automation and AI-powered systems for delivering scalable solutions. While focusing on UiPath as the primary platform, you will also have the opportunity to explore and adopt other automation platforms such as the Microsoft Power Platform.**Key Responsibilities:**- Design, develop, test, and maintain UiPath automations to automate business processes end to end.- Manage and support automations using UiPath Orchestrator and ensure stable production operations.- Build Python utilities/services to extend automations and integrate them with UiPath via APIs or service endpoints.- Integrate UiPath workflows with enterprise applications, databases, and REST APIs to enable reliable system-to-system automation.- Implement GenAI/LLM capabilities within automation use cases with a focus on accuracy and measurable outcomes.- Build Intelligent Document Processing solutions using UiPath Document Understanding and continuously improve performance.- Apply engineering best practices for version control, code reviews, exception handling, logging, and secure credential handling.- Define and execute test strategy for automations and ensure reliable releases.- Partner with process SMEs and product/engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver automations that reduce cycle time and errors.- Document solution design, operational runbooks, and support handover; contribute to governance standards and continuous improvement.- Evaluate and experiment with other automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform when needed.**Qualifications Required:**- At least 6 years of relevant experience in core engineering and automation skills.- Strong hands-on experience with Python and building or consuming RESTful APIs.- Hands-on experience with UiPath Studio and Orchestrator, open to exploring other platforms like Microsoft Power Automate.- Experience building production RPA solutions using REFramework and reusable libraries.- Experience integrating automations with REST APIs, databases, and Python/ML services.- UiPath certification and experience with Orchestrator administration and governance best practices.- Strong software engineering practices in Python and building lightweight services/utilities that support RPA.- Experience integrating GenAI/LLMs into enterprise workflows and understanding of CI/CD basics for automations.By joining Morgan Stanley, you can expect to work in an environment where you are supported and empowered, alongside relentless collaborators and creative thinkers.
