Data Science (Alpha Data Services) Vice President

Job Description

Role Overview:As a Vice President of Data Science at Alpha Data Services, you will play a key role in building Data Insight and Analytics to meet the growing demand within Alpha Data Services and their clients. You will drive real-world impact by applying innovative data-driven technology to the ever-growing dataset, from problem scoping to machine learning systems deployment and maintenance. Reporting to the ADS practice lead, this role will involve hands-on coding, building analytics and insights, and eventually leading a small team as capabilities and demand grow.Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Alpha Data Service Product Domain leads to build and execute data insights and analytics across client datasets, improving testing velocity, data-driven decision making, and innovating new product capabilities.- Utilize technology platforms to drive data-driven decisions and oversee the development roadmap execution.- Work with large datasets for data extraction, cleaning, exploration, analysis, and presentation.- Formulate data science solutions by collaborating with business and product teams and leading data scientists in the region.- Design and implement algorithms for analytics and statistical approaches on high-volume, high-dimensional datasets.- Deploy, test, validate, and maintain machine learning models in production, working with data engineers and machine learning engineers.- Conduct extract, transform, load operations from data sources for modelling purposes.- Utilize natural language processing to enhance Chatbot interactions for accessing and returning datasets.- Provide insight into completeness and time series data sets for client migrations.- Improve and automate data sets and corrections into various tools and platforms to enhance ongoing service delivery.Skills:- Analytical problem-solving abilities.- Strong mathematics and statistics background.- Key influencing and collaboration skills for effective communication with senior leaders, clients, and prospects.- Attention to detail for identifying trends and patterns.- Proficiency in creating clear and effective visual displays of data.- Creative thinking and practical problem-solving skills.- Full data science project lifecycle experience, including stakeholder engagement, data wrangling, modelling, and delivering insights.- Strong coding skills, with proficiency in Python, R & SQL.- Ability to tell stories with data and deliver data-driven insights effectively.- Leadership and coaching skills.Qualifications:- Minimum 10 years of Data Science experience in an Analytics/Data Science role within an Asset Manager.- Relevant degree subject (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Operational Research) with demonstrable experience.- Hands-on experience with data analytics and classical machine learning tools.Note: No additional details about the company were provided in the job description.
