As a Data Scientist at United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd, you will work on predictive maintenance use cases in collaboration with aircraft engineers. Your key responsibilities will include:- Liaison with Stakeholders in the Aircraft Health Monitoring team, Aircraft Engineering, and other Data Scientists to prioritize high-impact use cases for predictive maintenance- Working on complex Sensor data from AC systems like ACARS and QAR to extract relevant information- Analyzing AC Maintenance and Operations data to identify issues with critical A/C systems- Building, Testing, Deploying, and Monitoring machine learning algorithms to predict AC failures- Maintaining and enhancing existing model deployments to ensure their value and relevance- Mentoring junior team members and staying updated with advances in Machine LearningTo succeed in this role, you will need:- Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related fields- Minimum 4 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, advanced analytics, or optimization- Deep understanding of data structures, relationships, and efficient transformations- Familiarity with all parts of the data ecosystem including acquisition, engineering, storage, management, analysis, visualization, and model deployment- Strong knowledge of database querying and ability to write complex queries- Proficiency in Python or PySpark- Strong knowledge of Statistical Modelling, feature engineering, and testing- Ability to propose novel modeling approaches based on problem-solving- Legal authorization to work in India without sponsorship- Fluency in English and Hindi (written and spoken)- Successful completion of the interview processPreferred qualifications that will set you apart include:- Masters degree in a quantitative field- At least 2 years of experience in a project leadership role- Airline experience or knowledge of airline operations- Experience with anomaly detection, imbalanced classification, and time series analysis- Ability to quickly comprehend new data sources and ask relevant questions- Adaptability to new jargon and concepts quicklyThis position does not offer expatriate assignments or employment visa sponsorship on a time-limited visa status.
