Payment Operations Analyst

Role Overview:As a Payment Operations Analyst at Classcard, you will be responsible for managing payments and revenue. Your role will involve maintaining precise financial records, resolving payment discrepancies, and serving as the primary point of contact for customer payment queries. This hands-on position will allow you to work at the intersection of finance, operations, and customer engagement, providing you with an opportunity to develop expertise in fintech operations while building relationships with customers.Key Responsibilities:- Monitor daily payments and transaction flows through the payment gateway.- Reconcile revenue data end-to-end to identify and address discrepancies proactively.- Maintain accurate financial records, dashboards, and reports using Excel.- Assist new customers with onboarding, setup, and necessary verifications.- Engage directly with customers on collections, follow-ups, and payment inquiries to build trust-based relationships.- Guide new customers through the payment gateway activation, KYC, and account setup processes.- Educate customers on payments, refunds, settlements, and help them configure billing preferences.- Conduct setup/training calls for new customers and document common issues for smoother onboarding.- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment issues promptly and ensure smooth payment gateway operations.- Analyze transaction data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.- Prepare financial reports and summaries for leadership.- Contribute ideas to enhance collections, reporting, and customer communication processes.Qualifications Required:- Bachelors degree in Finance, Commerce, or a related field.- 1-2 years of experience in finance operations, payments, or collections (freshers with strong Excel skills are welcome).- Proficiency in Excel including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.- Understanding of financial data, transactions, and reconciliation.- Strong communication skills in English with the ability to interact with customers professionally.- Attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.- Knowledge of payment gateways and financial systems is a plus.- Familiarity with accounting principles and data analysis tools is advantageous.- Prior experience in a customer-facing role would be beneficial.Additional Details:Classcard offers a remote-friendly and flexible work culture, providing real ownership of critical finance functions from day one.
