Job Description

    You will be joining Canonical as a Python Software Engineer in the Certification team. This team focuses on developing tools that certify hardware as working with Ubuntu Core, Ubuntu Desktop, and Server. Your role will involve designing hardware for independent device probing and creating frameworks for software tests to ensure Ubuntu compatibility.Your responsibilities will include:- Maintaining and developing new features for Python-based test automation tools like Checkbox- Innovating ways to enable remote, automated testing- Assisting in building software for in-house designed testing hardware- Writing functional and performance tests for hardware enablement and regression protection- Participating in international meetings with occasional travelTo excel in this role, you should have:- Proficiency in Python programming- A quality-oriented, pragmatic approach to software design- Interest in test automation methodologies- Previous experience with Ubuntu or other Linux distributions- Ability to collaborate effectively in a globally distributed teamDesired skills and experience:- Passion for tinkering and making things- Agile environment experience- Hardware testing experience, particularly in the IoT sector- Familiarity with the C programming languageCanonical is a global software company that collaborates with the open-source community to deliver Ubuntu, a leading free software platform.
